Pretty blanket but had an odor

The dog blanket was very soft and pretty but had a strong chemical odor that filled the room. Instructions said to wash before using which I did but after washing

The dog blanket was very soft and pretty but had a strong chemical odor that filled the room. Instructions said to wash before using which I did but after washing on gentle is when I became aware of the odor. After a couple days the smell wasn't as strong but I hope it's safe to use with my little dog.
