The directions say supplemental feeding. I have a small dog only 7 pounds. Want to gradually mix in with his other food. How many days is the food good if stored in frig. 3days? 4days? 5days?.
Answer by ChewyDec 26, 2018
Once opened, canned food should be stored in the refrigerator for no longer than seven days. If you do not think you will use the whole can in that amount of time, freeze single-serve portions and thaw them on an as-needed basis.

To what temperature is this food heated prior to packaging?
Answer by ChewyJan 25, 2022
PetKind ingredients are preheated before cooking process at 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Product is vented for a minimum of 6 minutes to release air, and then cooked at 15 psi, 250 degrees for 90 minutes (250 degrees being the initial temperature).

Is this okay for puppies?
Answer by ChewyApr 09, 2020
This is not a complete and balanced diet. It is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding - please mix with a complete and balanced diet.

raw feeding is the best

I started feeding my Great Danes Raw food several years ago. I could never find tripe anywhere and all the raw fed groups didn’t come to my area. And shipping was way more then I could afford. Thankfully I stumbled upon tripe here on chewy ! I would prefer it straight from a freshly slaughtered animal ( as it’s more chewy and helps with there teeth and things better then the grounded up kind ). Tripe has so many awesome benefits for our pets.

Allergy prone Shepherd LOVES this!

Our 7+ year old Shepherd is allergic to so many things, but does well with lamb, bison, and rabbit. Decided to add this to her diet for the added nutrients and omegas for her skin, and she loves it! Cleans her plate immediately, and after just one day of softer stool, her stools went back to normal. She gets 1/2 can a day as a treat, though she'd eat the entire can in less than a minute if she could. Will keep on autoship and highly recommend.

My mdog likes it

It was recommended to us by our dog's breeder. We feed our corgi a tablespoon of Triplett in her kibble every morning. She likes it and it's good for her.

Clean food for ferrets

Love this brand. It is what it says it is - unaltered lamb tripe. No additional grains, fillers or vegetables, so I can add this to my ferrets soup weekly.

Saved my dog!

My boxer would not eat, and was losing weight. We thought it was the end. Someone recommended this food, and she has been doing much better.

Great product

I have fed the plain tripe recipe to my dogs for years. Helps the digestive system, breath and coats. They look sleek like seals but black. I di add the other tripe flavors but not the mixed cans. They do smell a bit but the dogs love it.

Not for us

I’m pretty sure the intestine lining (tripe) is what gives number2 its stink but this stuff is extra gaggy. I wear my N95 mask while handling and do so quickly. It’s much grosser than the fresh/frozen stuff. Idk if it’s the super weird awful smell (doesn’t smell like regular tripe) or the gross gelatin inside. I’ll keep it if we get in a pinch as it’s shelf stable but no thanks.

Nom nom for Finicky eater

If you have a dog that is finicky this is a great appetite stimulant! I don’t mind the smell because it smells good for my dogs and makes them eat! Stinker the better for pups noses! Looks like Chewy changed the packaging as I didn’t receive any dented cans.

Dog loves this product

My dog absolutely loves the tripe dog food. I am all about feeding him things he likes, even if it means I gag a bit.

Dented cans

I have been ordering this product because my dogs love it, however, I hate the fact the cans arrive damaged. All packing and boxes as well as coverings are always in good shape so this tells me damaged cans are being packed from their source. I stopped buying this product regularly because of this. i decided to try an order again after a year or so and what do you know, again, HALF the case had damaged cans. If I am paying full retail for an item I expect it to be in better condition. I am done. I still love Chewy even though it changed hands
