Questions & Answers

it says for supplemental feeding only but then you give instructions to transition to only this. please explain. thanks.
Answer by AlmaMay 21, 2022
I'm pretty sure that was meant for their bag of dog food and they just didn't check. I would still recommend slowly adding it to your dogs food as a supplement but not as a whole meal

Is this ground tripe? How large are the pieces?
Answer by ChewySep 05, 2017
This is made of green tripe. Green tripe is the unbleached, nutrient rich stomach lining of a grass-fed animal containing essential fatty acids and digestive juices important for your pet’s health.

Arent all the enzymes cooked out?
Answer by ChewyMay 27, 2022
PetKind strongly believes in the benefits of green tripe, even when cooked. The amino acids provide the biggest benefits in green tripe, and those are retained, even after being cooked. While PetKind understands that the digestive enzymes in green tripe are lost, cooked green tripe still offers exceptional health benefits for dogs. Many people who feed raw also feed their green tripe products as a supplement.

I was told by Trippett themselves that their formula no longer contains carrageenan gum. Please confirm that this is correct. I do not want to buy anything with that ingredient.
Answer by ChewyJul 27, 2018
This food contains Green Beef Tripe, Water, Garlic, and Guar Gum. No Carrageenan is in this product.

Turkish Delight

This tripe has been life-changing for our old German Shepherd. Of course it’s pungent, it’s tripe. But it’s good for the dogs, and it’s quickly become our dog’s reason for living! It’s his Turkish Delight!

Get Canned Food

I use the food with on of our Greyhounds who needed to put on weight. She gets it mixed in with her breakfast kibble and gobbles it down. Has added a pound or 2 so far so it’s doing its job.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED FOR AGING PET

My pet is a 16 year old 9.5 lb Chihuahua Mix. He has stage one kidney failure. He has been VERY reluctant to eat. He MUST eat! Right? He has prescribed appetite stimulant Entyce and kidney diet food. This food is not his favorite. I have to add whatever my imagination can come up with to get him to eat. I have the added problem of the food restrictions for kidney failure diet. This has been a great problem and time consuming problem for me. And anxiety causing. I came across the tripe supplement products. They are claimed to be low in phosphorous, the element that needs to be restricted in kidney disease. I read all the reviews. I read about dented, rusty cans and HORRID smelling "stuff". But everyone said their dogs LOVED this. I tried to find a seller of only one or two cans but was unable in my area. So I purchased the 12 pack from Chewy. Satisfaction and return was guaranteed. When the order arrived, I opened the package and inspected all the cans. Perfect, bright shiny cans. No dents. I was so impressed by the "stinky" factor that my dog and I went out in the garage to open our first can. NOT SO BAD AT ALL! And my dog followed me on "tippy paws" while I dished some up. I only put a small amount on his food. About a tsp. I suggest this for first timers as this is rich stuff. Watch the bowels the first few times. He ate all his food! This has made my life SOoo much easier. Thank you tripett and Chewy.

Dogs LOVE this stinky stuff!

I put a scoop in each dinner food bowl and it’s gone in a heartbeat. I’ve learned that you should NEVER warm it up - horrible smell that took quite some time to diminish.

Dogs love it

This is a fantastic additive to my dogs evening meal. Have found it less expensive locally, however, will still use Chewy when time permits.

great supplement to pup's diet

Stinky yet irresistible supplement to our large breed puppy's diet! Organs are essential to dog's diet and are very nutritious to regular kibbles/canned food.

DOGGY CRACK

Tripe is a SUPER FOOD. My dogs love the stink and taste! Its good for their gut and health as well. I don't think some people realize this is meant for supplemental feeding...not to replace dog food. It is VERY stinky but that's to be expected as its literally a cows stomach lining. I use some in their meal every couple of days or in kongs with other added items. SO WORTH THE MONEY AND STINK to keep my dogs happy and healthy! Thank you PetKind. <3

dogs LOVE it

I recently switched my dogs over to this green tripe brand dog food after trying two others. I’m impressed that it’s straight nutrient filled tripe. Other brands I have tried seem to be trying to please the human more than the dog, and what I mean by that is, They are trying to make it more visually appealing and adding ingredients, i.e. Potatoes, to cut back on the smell/appearance of it. Well, last I checked, dogs eat this and not people!! The stinkier the better! My dogs and their digestion LOVE this food. My greyhound and German Shepherd’s stool actually improved after adding this to their diet. Green Tripe has many beneficial benefits. Research it! And buy this dog food!

Top 1000 Contibutor

Substitute

Definitely a decent substitute for Grain free Lamb Tripe. Not happy with much higher calories. My Cocapoo was on the Lamb Tripe for years, and couldn't have been healthier. Was very concerned, with the shortages, that suddenly changing his diet would be a horrible experience. Not horrible, but not as healthy. BMs a little softer. Going more. More gas. Can't wait for things to go back to normal.

Smells Horrible and Very Expensive!

We tried Tripett brand of tripe when Chewy stopped carrying Solid Gold/Green Cow. But Tripett smells terrible and the odor sticks to your hands. It is also very, very expensive. Solid Gold advises they have not discontinued their tripe recipe... just had some manufacturing snags... so we have gone back to Solid Gold but buying it elsewhere. Wish Chewy would restock it. Love Chewy, not a fan of Tripett tripe for our dog.
