Questions & Answers

4 Customer Questions

What color is this supposed to be? I opened my first can, and it was like a grey mash. Is this normal?
Answer by ChewyAug 15, 2019
The texture, colour, odour of Tripett products will vary from can to can and case to case. Usually the variations are minor, but sometimes they are significant. The reason for this is due to their formulations based on nearly 100% unbleached, minimally rinsed and unprocessed GREEN TRIPE.

Should this product be refrigerated after opening?
Answer by ChewyMar 31, 2022
Once opened, refrigerate the cans up to 5 days. You can also spread into an ice cube tray and thaw cubes as needed. It’s like any cooked meat, it will spoil if left out.

I'm assuming this is a topper/supplement food? Or is it a complete food?
Answer by ChewySep 20, 2021
This recipe is intended for supplemental feeding.

How much phosphorus in a can

NOT easy on the stomach for every dog

I have a Mastiff Breed that has a sensitive stomach. We wanted to give him something different from his normal food. We only put 1/4 can of this in his normal food and he had that runs for days. It smells horrific too!

Dogs love it, but it stinks so bad

My girls love this, but I literally gag when I open the can..LOL. I may order again sometime since they like it, but not on the regular because of the smell.

Excellent supportive food

Excellent product -- first time buying a case of the Beef/Venison tripe -- have always used the lamb before but decided to try this. Great addition to the food I cook for her.

Pup loved it!!

My dogs love this!! Had no idea this even existed, until finding a couple cans at the local pet store! I have since ordered a case. Great product!!

Easy way to feed tripe

I feed my dog raw and once a week she gets tripe. She loves it and it's very convenient.

Not what it used to be

I decided to start ordering canned tripe to add as incentive for my older Crested boy to eat better. I was happy when the order arrived but horrified when I opened the can! Tripett has ruined what used to be a great product. It is more like tripe whip now than the nice more solid tripe. It is not at all what I was thinking it should be. All the other reviews were right. Tripett has taken a once great meal addition and turned it into something that is for their profit only. I am getting tired of the pet foods trading down for lesser quality. I will use what I have but I am not at all happy about Tripett ruining what should have been a bonus addition to my dog's meals. He eats it but his enthusiasm is not at all what it used to be. It is shameful that companies can change products for the worse, not better. I would rather pay more and get what I used to with what I once considered an excellent meal addition. I am not impressed in the least!!

Our Dog Likes It

Even though it has a very strong odor, our dog likes the flavor and eats it along with her dry food.

Not Liked by Molly

My St Bernard loved the regular green tripe but not the one with venison.

Cockapoo loves this stinky stuff

My very picky 4 yr old Cockapoo licks her dish clean if this is in it. We adopted her a year ago; previously ate grocery store dog food and super itchy. We experimented with limited ingredient food, esp no foul. Wet/kibble/dehydrated...tricky to know if she'd eat it or not. Now she loves it every day, be warned tho-stinky. Her vet/groomer always comment how gorgeous her coat is and her health is excellent. Saw previous comments on dogs and garlic, research has disproved garlic as a dog poison.

Lots of dented cans

Great product, but the cans as of late have been arriving dented.
