This keeps the desiccant separate from the food while effectively absorbing moisture. For optimal freshness, we recommend replacing the desiccant bag every two weeks.

Are these really needed for dry food?

Nothing wrong with them, but it feels like a ruse to get us to needlessly spend more money. I don't have a desiccant bag in my bag of cat food that likely sat on

Nothing wrong with them, but it feels like a ruse to get us to needlessly spend more money. I don't have a desiccant bag in my bag of cat food that likely sat on a store shelf for months & months, so why do I need one in the feeder where the food sits for only a few days before being eaten?
