FAQ

The Best Feeder for Multi-Pet Families

Say goodbye to food stealing and mix-ups with the Petlibro One RFID Pet Feeder. This innovative feeder uses a unique RFID collar tag to ensure that only a designated pet has access to the food within it.

Personal Meals with RFlD Pet Recognition

The RFID reader verifies your pet's collar tag—not their microchip—before allowing the lid to unlock and food to be served.

Wi-Fi Connected, App-Powered

The Petlibro app lets you easily schedule customized meals for your pet, monitor feeding, and make changes as needed.

RFID Collar Tag for Easy Meal Access

The comfortable, lightweight RFID tag weighs just 4.2 grams. It comes on a snap-release collar and features a QR code for added security.

Questions & Answers

7 Customer Questions

Is there a backup feature or system that kicks in if the wifi is disconnected?

Answer by ChewyDec 19, 2025
This product is designed to continue dispensing food according to the programmed schedule, even if the Wi-Fi goes out or the feeder goes offline. As long as the feeder is plugged in or has batteries installed, it will reliably follow the feeding plan at the scheduled times. Feeding records will not be recorded during the offline period, but once the device reconnects to Wi-Fi, those records will be updated accordingly.

Can wet food be added to the food bowl?

Answer by ChewyJan 03, 2026
The Petlibro One RFID Automatic WiFi App Controlled Cat Feeder with Collar Tag is suitable for dry food only.

If im away on a work trip, in a different state, can I still use the app to manually feed my cat?

Answer by ChewyDec 30, 2025
The feeder can still be used via the app even if the user is in a different state.

Can you buy an extra collar and use one feeder?

Answer by ChewyDec 30, 2025
The feeder can only sync with one collar tag.

This is not a good product, both on the hardware and software. The food outlet gets stuck every day dispensing food because the shoot is not well angled and has a gap which kibble gets stuck on. I've tried multiple kibble sizes. The Petlibro app is terribly designed, being more optimized to sell you more Petlibro products and another subscription than to be helpful software for the feeder. There's a pop up ad every day and inline ads are littered around the UI. There are also major security issues with the Petlibro API which have been recently identified in 2026. I can't link to it here, but just search for "petlibro api security issues" and you'll find the article.

My router is in the LV, this feeder in the bedroom. I ended up having to set up with my phone's mobile hotspot. Fairly simple. My vet wants my calico to lose about 2lbs so I got this for the tiny 1 to free feed. Rocky took to it after just a few tries. We are starting day 2. The problem is that i've already had to re pair the tag. It seems like the prongs attaching the sensor platform to the feeder, were somehow out of whack. Thank you FAQs bc this had me super frustrated before my morning coffee. I really like it , but i'm not going to fix that platform every day. Here's hoping!

My cat Ginkgo who needs to be strictly on prescription foods but at the same time, he is very food obsessed (an orange tabby), we have been struggled for this a while, this RFID automatic feeder is perfect for this situation, it gave Moonpie exclusive access : ) It took Moonpie several days to get used to it, at first, she would be scared by the lid opening sound, but once she figured out it was completely normal, she was fine. I love how I could set up the cute cat icon on the LED screen and also with Moonpie's name while she was eating. The feature documenting down how long of time Moonpie has eaten daily, it indeed helped me keep track and notice if anything abnormal happened when I am not at home.

Reading reviews my only concern was my other cats getting into the food compartment. I’ve been using it just shy of two weeks and no issues. I have yet to have any issues with kibble getting stuck, I feel like if I were to use an odd shaped kibble I could run into issues. My only issue was it was a little difficult to connect it to my WiFi unless I was right next to it. After getting it set up I could move it with no issues. I over all love this product and have another on the way!

Been using the feeder for a while, I gotta say I'm glad that i made the decision to buy this, cuz it literally save me a lot of time, and also my sleep! One of my cat is pancreatic, i had to get up and feed him during the night because of that. Unfortunately, I've always have trouble sleeping, which made it worse for me to go back to sleep after feeding my cat during the night. But now, since the automatic feeder did it for me, i could finally sleep tight! And also with the collar, it became sooo much easier to prevent my other cat from stealing food lol! Well, i gotta say, So far so good! No jamming no error, nothing to complain about! I'll keep it updated if there's any issue.

The feeder came exactly as I expected and worked pretty much right out of the box..so yay for that. My issue is-- I have Carson who cannot eat "regular" dry cat food, or he will potentially die (urine crystals..ugh). I have a senior cat Ebbie that is on a special diet and should not eat Carson's food. There are also 3 other cats in the house too but thankfully they are all on normal diets. Ebbie and Carson are totally bonded and together all the time. I needed a way for Ebbie to eat his food at night and when I am at work without Carson getting it. The first night it was hooked up Carson demolished the feeder, and all the food was gone so it was a good thing I only put in 1/4 cup! So, it is now weighted down. Ebbie (my senior) has no problems using the feeder. He has always worn a collar so adding the chip tag was not an issue. I don't think I will ever pre-load the feeder with the amount of food that it will hold due to my fear of Carson getting into it again. So, the desiccant pouches they use to keep the food fresh will probably not be needed in our unit. I do wish the feeder had the ability to allow multiple cats to eat out of it. I would be willing to buy more tags if they can ever make that improvement.

It holds a good amount of food and seals really well to keep food fresh. The only issue we have had is our cat losing the collar. After ordering a new collar we found the other one. Glad we had it though cause he ended up losing the fob of the original collar and we have not been able to find that. Think that needs a stronger attachment on the collar. Also they can pull apart the collar just like a regular breakaway collar.

We have 4 cats and a dog. Most of the cats are fed up on a table where the dog can’t get to the food, but our senior cat has joint issues and a touch of CH and can’t jump up. This feeder has been perfect for giving him access to his own senior cereal without keeping him closed up in a room for meals. He’s had no trouble figuring it out, and I love being able to track when he’s eating. The LED screen is very cute, and I like to change the text on it to write little love notes to my spouse when I’m out of town. The only thing that doesn’t work for our cat is the base that comes out in front of the feeder. With his joint and mobility issues (and having long toe hairs that grow faster than he’ll let me trim), he slides around on its smooth surface and has trouble balancing when he’s at the feeder. However, I was able to just tuck that part under a rug to give him better stability, and that has worked out perfectly. We love this feeder!

They adapted nicely. My one obese cat adjusted very well to which feeder was his and has since lost half a pound. It's just the other obese cat I'm really struggling with. Petlibro should elongate the sides and add a bar across the top to prevent greedy cats from squishing their way in. I did buy an acryllc t frame and used double sided clear tape. I taped the frame portion to the sides and the bottom of the frame across the top. This seems to somewhat prevent the fat cat from pushing his way in. Don't get me wrong, when the skinny cat steps away and the door closes the fat cat gors away but if the skinny cat keeps eating the fat cat can also eat without my modifications so petlibro should take my suggestions to heart
