Having chew champ dogs the 1st thing to happen will be they'll digest the green rings on both sides of the jack. Then there's a gap between the end cap making the treat easy to remove. You'll need to hack saw off the plastic stem to shorten the gap so the treats will last longer. When working correctly, it's a good toy, but the necessary modifications and time to assemble the treats each time make it a less desirable toy.
This is a smaller version of a two-sided Busy Buddy that my 3 year old, 17 lb. Chiweenie (chihuahua dachshund mix) is always excited to receive filled with a medium size rawhide type treat. He also enjoys the more difficult two-sided version but he is extremely food driven and willing to work at chewing through the disc to get off of the toy. My grand dachshund, 10 years old and usually food driven, wouldn't work hard enough to get the disc of off the two-sided busy buddy so I bought this smaller one and put medium size discs on it - much easier to get them off! Either way, my little guy loves this and will work at it for several minutes until he liberates the treat!
This is great for dogs that love to chew stuff. Unfortunately, my pup can care less for this toy. She hasn't moved it since I've gave it to her.
The only negative is it takes a little while to screw it back together once you put the treats in it. But our dog loves it.
We had purchased the bouncy bone style of this toy which keeps our puppies attention for about 20 minutes. We purchased this to hope she would be occupied longer with a more challenging looking toy. However she broke the green rubber off within 10 minutes. Frustrated to say the least. Don’t waste your money.
My service dog Sport LOVES his jack. He will chew away for hours. We had this one for about 8 months and it’s completely my fault that it’s broke. I looked away for not even 5 minutes between these 2 pictures, and he had unscrewed it and chewed on the piece so it doesn’t screw back on. Ordering a new one since he was very upset when I took it away. First time he played with it, it took him about a week or 2 to get the treats off. Second time took less than an hour. They learn quick. But he still enjoys it even if there aren’t treats on it. Once they learn how to unscrew it, it makes getting the treats very easy. I would still highly recommend this. Not only is it a great chew, it also provides mental stimulation as they try to figure out how to get the treat out. Just keep a close eye to be sure they don’t get the whole thing off!
This chew toy did not last long. Ends were chewed off and toy was in the garbage within the day.
This toy is very durable! I also love the treat rings in it. We have a 4 month old Bernedoodle puppy and he loves this toy! It was the first toy he went for after I let him out this morning. We’ve had it about a month and he hasn’t broken it, and we still have some treat rings left. We have adjusted to configuration in different ways to make getting the treats easy and more difficult. It’s a great distraction for him and a great testing toy!
Cowboy loves this chew toy keeps him busy. He now can get treats out in no time at all but still enjoys chewing on toy
This is his favorite toy. Small enough to handle and has to work to get the treat.
