Help your dog chill out with the Chilly Penguin freezable dog toy from PetSafe. Designed to give your sidekick a special snack, this arctic friend can be filled and frozen for a rewarding challenge he'll love. Load it with broth, wet dog food, peanut butter or yogurt before popping it the freezer overnight—or pour your dog's favorite chewy treat into an already-frozen penguin. It's made of durable, vanilla-scented rubber and designed with a rounded base, so it will wobble as your pup tries to devour every bit of his treat. It's especially ideal for cooling down on hot days or soothing the tender gums of teething puppies. Plus, it's top-rack dishwasher safe and available in two sizes for different breeds.
Designed to hold freezable liquid snacks, or frozen and filled with solid treats.
Because you choose what goes inside, you get total control over snack-time.
Rounded base gives this penguin a wobble, creating a challenge for your dog.
Snowflake design is more than a cute decoration—it helps hold those frozen treats in!
Features a stackable design, so you can save space in your freezer by stacking penguins high.
I’m fostering a young dog on crate rest, so I bought this to try and give him some more variety in toys and chews to keep him occupied. This was the FIRST toy he actually engaged with, even before Kongs. Hands down it is his most favorite one, he will devour it immediately without stopping as soon as I give it to him (I usually freeze baby food and dog treats in the middle). This is also the only toy I trust him with unsupervised (even the red Kongs make me a little nervous) because he’s such a strong but quiet chewer. Definitely a 5 star buy and I think I will be buying more soon.
Heavy and convenient
on May 24, 2021
This penguin is heavy and durable. Like others have noted, the toy opening lays parallel to the floor and has a small bowl for filling. This helps with the filling process and tends to be less messy during eating because there’s no bottom hole to allow leakage. Because of its flat shape it’s easier for my dog to pick up and play with than a traditional Kong. He’s a heavy chewer and, other than some punctures, this toy is holding up nicely.
big fail on this one

Let me start by saying, I love Chewy's and have been a customer for many years. Recently got a puppy and have been tired of the usual Kongs, etc. for chewing so decided to buy the freezer penguin. First of all, it weighs a ton! It is a ridiculous weight for a small dog/puppy as it is hard to handle. The opening for the treat is too large as well. Maybe a St. Bernard was in mind when they designed it. Used it once and that was it.
Favorite toy for all the pups

The first one I bought was such a hit that I bought nine more. I took a couple out and stuffed treats in them, a couple more went into the freezer. But they knew there were still more in the box. They are such a hit with my pack that I had to take them ALL out. They are very durable, and great for teething puppies. I like to put a few treats in with a little water, then freeze them. When they come out, they are great entertainment for busy pups as well!
Good Kong alternative
on Mar 28, 2021
I bought this as another Kong-type of product so I could rotate them. I like the different shape, and since it lays flat you could fill it with liquids (like broth) and it will freeze nicely, whereas a Kong has a hole on each end so anything too liquidy would be difficult to insert and stay. I will say this seems to be heavier than kongs, and the snowflake shape makes it a bit tricky for cleaning. Overall happy with the product though!
Hard for my pup
on May 5, 2021
This was hard for my pup to get all the soft and little treats out of it while frozen. I tried to use it with just regular soft treats not frozen & it was still a little difficult and there was treats left a day later and she lost interest.
Useful frozen treat

This toy works well and provides a great way to keep our dog busy with a low-calorie treat! It's harder to fill a kong with broth without the liquid spilling out, but this works great for that! My dog loves to lick this frozen treat and it keeps him busy for about a half hour.
One of the best toys for extreme chewers
on May 8, 2021
My dog chews to destroy. He's only 22 pounds but has a jaw of steel. This is extremely durable. I ended up buying two; one for the house and the other for inside our camper.

I just received my chilly penguin and I’m happy with it so far. Feels really durable and looks very well made! It was easy to fill. I just wish the spot where you fill was bigger and alittle deeper. It’s not that big or deep. So you’r dog would probaly be done with this with in 15min depending on how much of a aggressive licker they are lol. I didn’t give it to my pup yet since I just received it it’s currently in the freezer, freezing with peanut butter so we will see how it is once I give it to my pup!
OK, BUT FLAWED

THIS TOY IS JUST OKAY. THE OPEN PART OFFERS NO CHALLENGE AND THE SIDES ARE TOO TIGHT FOR MY DOG TO COMPLETELY EMPTY AND SHE GETS BORED WITH IT. ( THE LITTLE STAR PART) IT IS INDESTURCTABLE, SHE CANT CHEW THE SIDES, BUT FOR THE INTENT, JUST OK. i FREEZE WET FOOD, OR PEANUT BEUTTER, OR OTHER "WET " TREAT AND IT TAKES HER 10 MINUTES TO BE BORED AND LEAVE IT , STILL FULL UNDER THE STARS, AND SHE DOESNT GO BACK TO IT TILL I REFILL IT
