Does this work in the wall?

Does the large door work with microchips in large dogs as well?

Pairing with a microchip will only work for the Medium sized door. The large door is not compatible for use with microchips.

Sturdy and well-made, but tags are useless

This door is well-made and quality/design seems to be good. The issue is the pet tags that activate the door, which was the main reason for the purchase. The tags

This door is well-made and quality/design seems to be good. The issue is the pet tags that activate the door, which was the main reason for the purchase. The tags are essentially useless as the door rarely detects it or it needs to be almost touching the door for it to activate. Maybe another reader technology would make activation better. We just use it in non-smart mode now. The app is decent as it tells you when you pet comes and goes, but it allows lock/unlock scheduling only in smart mode (with tags). It should allow scheduling in any mode. Would not recommend if you're looking for the smart feature.

Overpriced doggy door

I have two dogs and I was fully expecting a motorized door so that it would open when the dogs come near it because come on, $500+ for a regular doggy door besides

I have two dogs and I was fully expecting a motorized door so that it would open when the dogs come near it because come on, $500+ for a regular doggy door besides the fact that chips and rfid tags allow it to swing? But now my second dog is scared to go near it because one dog went out, and since the door is a hard plastic, while my second was following out it swung right into and smacking her right in the face and now she won’t use it. I was better off with the $25 rubber door

Missing parts hardware

Well when you're having a door company cut out and install the doggie door and you take it to him. Never opened and it's missing hardware and parts and it's costing

Well when you're having a door company cut out and install the doggie door and you take it to him. Never opened and it's missing hardware and parts and it's costing me time and money to drive 45 mi to the window company and door company to pick up the products and send it back and the time delay that there you have to cut out the door. This is just unacceptable when you're buying something that's supposed to be high quality and that's this amount of money

Really good door, almost great.

Not sure why they can’t make just a simple microchip door like they do for cats, just bigger. This one costs a lot more due to the technology within, which is cool

Not sure why they can’t make just a simple microchip door like they do for cats, just bigger. This one costs a lot more due to the technology within, which is cool and works well, but I was not able to get a microchip to work with it, even thigh the Medium door is supposedly able to connect to the brand my dog has (tech support was not able to help to make it work, either). Oh well, the collarbone works fine. If your dog(s) are sensitive to unusual sounds, it may take some time to train them to be able to use this door. The key unlocks it by a motor releasing the lock, but it’s not super fast or quiet. Plus there are lights and relays that click. I’m sure ours will eventually get over all that, but it will take some time.

I needed a door that would let my very nervous rescue dog in and out while keeping out my big male cat, who is a bit of a bully, outside. This door is heavy enough that the cat hasn't even tried to come in, but my dog figured goes in and out without difficulty. The door can be programmed to only open when a tag on the dog's collar comes close, but we haven't had to use that feature yet. It's good to know we have a fail-safe if the cat gets crafty and figures out the door.

Doesn't work as advertised; unreliable; not worth the large price tag

I installed this pet door for my cat, Pepper. Pepper already is familiar with how to use a smart pet door, but this door doesn't always open even when it's "unlocked."

I installed this pet door for my cat, Pepper. Pepper already is familiar with how to use a smart pet door, but this door doesn't always open even when it's "unlocked." Sometimes she's can get out, but the door has never opened the opposite way to let her back in. I've tried to trouble shoot every way I know how, but it seems there's a slight issue with the design which doesn't allow the flap to open in even when the door is unlocked. Very disappointed.

Solved our problem!

I was so happy with how quickly my senior dog figured out how to use the door. It works great to let him in and out and my cat has been unable to beat the system

I was so happy with how quickly my senior dog figured out how to use the door. It works great to let him in and out and my cat has been unable to beat the system to get out. The door requires a wee by of force to open (hood cat deterrent and dog doesn’t care) and my only complaint is it slams closed somewhat loudly, BUT that does make it more effective to make sure it closes quickly and cat doesn’t sneak out. Very happy with it!

Mechanics & Technology are fine and helpful, but....

the "depth" of the door is a struggle for our older cat AND the actual door is so dark gray, he (cat) cant see through it.
