While the wall conversion kit isn't insulated, the door that this is compatible with has an insulated flap with UV sun protection to help keep out the elements.

Wall adapter for Petsafe Doggie Door

Needed additional piece for wall

We love the Smart door for our dog. He learned to use within 5 days, why didnt we get this sooner. We used to have to come home on our lunch and let him out to go

Two years old two doors

We have two dogs a 10 yo Sheppard and a 4 yo retriever when we build our house two years ago we had the contractor install the pet door for the dogs in the laundry

We have two dogs a 10 yo Sheppard and a 4 yo retriever when we build our house two years ago we had the contractor install the pet door for the dogs in the laundry / dog room facing the back yard. The room is where the dogs sleep and are kept when they need to stay out of the main house. Problem with this door is I could never get the door to program properly with the fobs without it making a Big Bang when it unlocked that the dogs did not like at all. We finally resorted to manually unlocking the door in the morning and locking it at night and that worked fine. The real problem is that 12 mo after installing the door the door broke off just above the henge, I called PetSafe about the door braking and after some discussion they sent me another door, that I installed with no issues. Petsafe informed me that there was no warranty on the replacement door assembly. And now almost exactly one year later i have almost exactly the same issue the door has broken off again. Not very pleased with this door.

Not having the right screws

When you attach this with the door in the wall the screws are to short resulting in me having to go pay extra money on top of my order to complet the job. I did

I did not realize this till already having the whole cut out so I had not choice but to go buy them. You would think with the attachment it would have the proper pieces that complete the installment knowing it is a extended piece.

the conversion kit worked perfectly to mount our dog door to our house, but i thought it was a little pricey for the 2 pieces the set came with. Considering the dog door itself is already 100 dollars and then plus another 1oo for the conversion kit and that is almost more expensive than our front door. I guess it's worth it for my family member though. I will also say it's expensive on all other sights but this was the cheapest that i found. Overall very good product Fast shipping and i love Chewy.com <3

Product works as advertised

This product works great for the purpose I ordered it. It unlocks a lot when the dogs aren't near it. Something in the neighborhood sets it off quite frequently

This product works great for the purpose I ordered it. It unlocks a lot when the dogs aren't near it. Something in the neighborhood sets it off quite frequently. The keys have broken within 60 days of the dogs wearing them. They are little dogs, and the key drags on the bottom of the door each time they go in or out. Overall, this is a good product for control of which animals can go in and out.

The Pet Door and Wall Conversion Kit perform as advertised.

One thing a prospective buyer needs to think of is how high off the ground will the exit be. Ours was almost two feet from the ground; so we had to build a little

One thing a prospective buyer needs to think of is how high off the ground will the exit be. Ours was almost two feet from the ground; so we had to build a little platform and ramp for our dog to come and go. Installation is not quite as simple as presented in the instructions. The precautions are good, but the assumption that the pet measurements requested will actually work assume there is no woodwork of any kind along the floor. Following the instructions would have you cut through that trim. I removed the little lip on the bottom of the inside adapter piece so it all would sit as low as possible without ruining the woodwork, and proceded as instructed. Also, to drill a hole horizontally and vertically perpendicular to the wall requires both a square and a small level to sit ON the square; plus you need a drill bit LONG enough to go all the way from inside to outside. Most people won't have one and will need to go to their hardware store. Aside from always being a complex and scary proposition, (this was my third installation), all three times everything went quite well. The instructions and tool requirements could be a little more comprehensive for those folks who have never done anything like this before. I definitely recomend this to anyone that is handy with tools. I should have taken pictures. These doors are quite durable, work perfectly, and a set of batteries will last six months.
