Our dogs love to wrestle and occasionally they get tangled up. I’ve heard horror stories about dogs getting their mouths or limbs caught on each other’s collars and causing them to either choke or freak out and fight. I don’t want my dogs to be without collars in the house, so this is the perfect solution. We put harnesses with tags on them when we take them on walks, so the breakaway feature isn’t a risk while we are on our walks. I wish more companies would offer breakaway options, or that this collar came in more colors and patterns, but I’m just glad these exist!

This does exactly what I needed: break away if, during play with the other dogs, someone's teeth get hung up on the collar. I had seen this happen years ago and luckily I was there to get the collar off-barely in time. Since I have 2 black German Shepherd Dogs that are the same size and frame, I wanted a collar for the youngest so I can tell them apart at a glance when we're outside doing stuff. But I wanted a break-away, just in case. Sure enough within a couple weeks the collar had popped off when he and one of my other dogs were out in the dog yard playing. It's really easy to put back together and the double rings allow me to attach a leash without the collar popping open when walking. Very pleased with this.

Both of these collars broke within a year of getting them. The plastic pieces are kind of thin, and easily break.
