is this the only vohc approved toothpaste available for consumers?

I couldn’t find the other one on the market (the website said it’s only available for vets?) so I had no choice. I think it doesn’t taste that good because my dog doenst like it. She didn’t hate brushing when we were using oratene. But our vet told us that applying daily oratene didn’t do anything. Hence the new toothpaste. Being vohc approved is worth 4 stars in my opinion.

Great Toothpaste

This is a great product if your dog isn’t a fan of regular brushing. Our pup has pretty bad gum issues and with regular toothpaste and a brush, it’s usually a two man job to hold her down and hold her mouth open to brush. It’s been hard to keep up with and we needed something better. We use this paste plus the swab sticks and now our pup sits calmly while we apply this to her teeth. It’s crazy the difference in her behavior and how much she doesn’t mind it. After 3-4 uses, I’ve immediately noticed the tartar buildup dissipate and get better for her and her breath is noticeably better too. Definitely will be ordering again.

Already seeing improvements

I had been brushing my 1-year-old dog’s teeth every day with a different toothpaste, but she was already getting some tartar buildup. I switched to Petsmile, which is VOHC-approved, and I’m already seeing improvement! It has a thick consistency and sticks to the teeth and gums. Also, she likes the taste well enough, but she isn’t getting over exciting and trying to eat it while I’m brushing, like she did with the other toothpaste.

Both dogs hate it

I have two dogs, and one of them will eat absolutely ANYTHING. Both of my dogs literally turned up their noses at this when I offered them a small taste from the tip of my finger. I genuinely have never seen them refuse something without even tasting it. And if they don't like the taste, brushing will be an unpleasant experience for them which I do not want. Super disappointed since this is the only VOHC approved toothpaste on the market.

This has a rough texture ans it made my cats gums bleed. I'm not giving her anymore it isn't soft and she hated the flavor

Dog and Dog-Mom both love it!

After our mini-poodle began getting tartar, I tried several different toothpastes. It took awhile for Charlie to get used to the actual brushing, but he LOVES the toothpaste. He actually licks the brush clean when I'm done! Plus it's recommended by VOHC! (PS I switched from a "dog" toothbrush to a soft child's toothbrush and Charlie likes it better.)
