Probably not a good choice
My pup (22 lb doodle) has multiple food allergies & is very limited on acceptable treats/chews. I was very excited to see this as an option. Upon opening the package, my dog was extremely interested. It was like giving catnip to a cat. He began chewing it more intensely & aggressively than I’ve ever seen. The dogwood immediately began chipping apart & causing him to cough on pieces. I threw it out within 3 minutes because it sounded like he was going to break his teeth. He’s never been a strong chewer before so I assume this has something added to stimulate a dog’s interest. It just doesn’t seem to be a safe choice. I can’t recommend it & would give it zero stars if possible.
Irritated dogs throat
My dog loved this too much. Chewed through the night unfortunately little pieces come off which irritated our pups throat/esophagus. She was hacking and throwing up all day. She skipped water and dinner for the next night and by morning was doing fine. Just a warning for pup parents of aggressive chewers.
Ok Product
It’s not bad but i don’t know if I would recommend it to anyone. She loved it when I first gave it to her but she’s quite an aggressive chewer. It began to chip away a few hours later. She was even coughing bc of the chipped pieces. Overall it is not bad if ur dog isn’t an aggressive chewer. If you do have an aggressive chewer, another product might be better for your pet.
Disappointed
I was excited to receive these bc I have 2 American Bullies that chew on everything including my trees. I thought they would be perfect. I ordered 2 and when they arrived have 1 to each Bully. Each dog chewed on them for about 10 minutes and that has been it. I have even interacted with my boys and the sticks and the boys could care less. So another waste of money toy for my boys. UGH
Very good stuff
Have been getting these for my 2 class 5 chewers for the last year. Love them and they last about 45 days. 2 65 pound dogs that chew on thes ever time we go outside. Out at least 5 times a day. These guys will chew on rocks if we dont have these, Really.
Pretty good for a stick
The dogs seem to like these. Not as much as the nylabone knuckles but still give these attention. They seem to chew on the narrower end and leave the fatter end alone. I expected it to kind of break down after awhile which is nice that it hasn't. I think time will tell if these become a regular in the household or not.
My dogs love these
My dogs seem to lose these. They didn't the 1st time I got them last year but I randomly got some recently again and my dogs love them. Yes guys it's probably going to splinter, it's wood. Your dogs chew on branches and trees outside. Same thing
Beware of BROKEN TEETH
I bought these through my local feed store because they're cheaper, but I'm trying to get word out somehow. The company NEEDS to soften the formula. I have two dogs, the German shepherd slab fractured two teeth and the little guy slab fractured one. This is going to be over $600 in dental bills now. They had ones rated for their size and were supervised and not getting into it any more than another toy. Beware of dental bills! All three teeth have been completely cracked in half.
not good for aggressive chewers
I guess I messed up because when I received this product I noticed on the packaging it says Moderate chew level. My dog is an aggressive chewer and I spent so much time trying to find toys and treats for him. He has been chewing on it for about 2 hours and it is already very worn. He was also choking on a piece that broke off. He is a 2 year old, 80 lb Goldendoodle.
My dog loves it
I have Bully and he loves chewing on this stick, he can’t get enough of this stick. Great distraction so he doesn’t chew anything else around the house
