Chewing helps puppies deal with teething pain, and it helps adult dogs keep their teeth clean and exercise their jaw. It can also help relieve anxiety, boredom and frustration. Petstages chews help you create a safe and healthy outlet for all your dog’s chewing instincts.

Petstages Dogwood and Alternative Chews

Petstages makes alternatives to wood, rawhide and antler chews that let your pup chew without causing you worry. Their puppy chews include the Mini Cool Chew, which can be frozen for soothing relief, and the Mini Dental Rope Chew, with knots and rubber rings. Petstages also offers Orka chews for tough chewers.

Durable Wood Alternative

The Dogwood chew stick is made in the U.S.A. from a blend of natural wood fiber and safer synthetic materials.

Puppy Chews

Petstages Puppy Chews have textures to massage sore gums and canvas streamers help clean teeth.

Orka Toys

Petstages Orka chew toys are made for power chewers. They stand up to tough chewing and help reduce boredom and destructive behavior.

The Real Wood Dogwood Toy

The Dogwood chew toy contains real, natural wood, so it smells like a stick fresh off the tree! It has the real wood texture and taste your dog loves, without the threat of splinters.

Great for Interactive Play

With a shape ideal for throwing and carrying, the Dogwood stick is ready for some interactive fun! Take it outdoors and toss it to your pup for retrieval training or a quick game of fetch.

I buy these for my dogs all the time. They used to be $5.99. Now they are $19.99. Why such a huge increase?

What is the synthetic material. My dog is allergic to plastic.
Answer by ChewyDec 14, 2017
The Dogwood Stick is made of a polypropelene blend with real wood flour. It is meant to flake off as the dog chews and will safely pass through their system.

I was wondering how big the large stick is. I have a Saint Bernard, I need inches and feet not the poundage of a dog
Answer by ChewyDec 05, 2017
The Large dimensions are 8 inches long x 1.75 inches wide. The Petite dimensions are 4 inches long x 0.59 inches wide. The Small dimensions are 5.25 inches long x 1.25 inches wide. The Medium dimensions are 7.25 inches long x 1.5 inches wide.

Where are these made?
Answer by ChewyDec 11, 2017
These are made in the U.S.A.

She likes it !!

We have a senior mini dachshund who doesn’t play much with toys anymore. Recently while puppy sitting she had great fun stealing this bone from the puppy. Got her one of her own and at first she ignored it. We left it on the floor and she goes over picks it up and chews for a few minutes. She actually likes it.

Useless stick

My two dachshunds pretty much love every toy (and non toy) but for some reason neither are remotely interested in this one. They love real sticks they live to chew hard plastics it seemed like it would be great. It’s well made but they barely sniff at it and walk away. Unfortunately I bought two (one for each) and will be gifting them away.

My pomsky has literally been chewing this for a year. It's worn down and well loved. It keeps him occupied for hours - and this comes from a dog who is a MAJOR chewer and especially loves sticks. 100000/10!! I'm ordering him a new one, now... he's earned it!

Long Lasting but makes a mess

My dog really enjoys this! He loves sticks outside so I bought this to entertain him inside. It's hard & keeps him occupied. I did think it was going to be more like a nylabone, but this one breaks into little pieces and they get all over the floor, but I do still give it to him! That's the only reason for 4/5 stars. Dog really likes it but probably won't purchase again since it's a mess, but definitely a bang for your buck and lasts a long time.

great for chewers

my dog loves chewing and really only wants to play with bones and other toys made for chewing. she normally destroys every toy in 20 minutes, even things designed for tough chewers. She was eventually able to chip away a bit at the ends, but it took a while. I will definitely be buying this for her regularly. This one was a hit and she chose it over her other bones on multiple occasions. I bought the large for my 45 pound mix.

Quality Decreased, Price Increased

I have always purchased these for my dogs. They love them. They will usually last 4-5 months. They must have changed something about them, because my dogs went through the last ones in less than a month. Left a much bigger mess also. I think the quality on these greatly declined. I am also Shocked by how much the price went up. I will not be purchasing these anymore.

Perfect for tough chewers with allergies

My medium size dog has lots of allergies, but will also destroy almost every toy within hours. This is the perfect chew... she will wear it down over a matter of weeks. I also have a second dog who cracked teeth on an antler, and he will sometimes chew this without hurting his teeth.

Stick looking dog chew

This turned out to be much too big for my 18 pound Papillion mix to chew. She had no interest in it. I gave it to a friend with a puppy who also likes to chew.

Too hard for a puppy teeth.

Our puppy loves chewing on sticks, so this is a great safer alternative. It is a very hard toy so it might too much for a puppy to enjoy to the fullest. He was very interested in it but I will withhold it until he's older.

I finally have found a toy that my pitbull cannot, I REPEAT, CANNOT destroy in a matter of 5 minutes. She has been chewing on it for about three days now and has only roughed up the ends, but the toy is still completely intact. She enjoys finally having her own little toy. I definitely plan on buying more of these.
