The ONLY chew option our dog doesn’t destroy in one session

Wow... I see some photos of “shattering” and that’s never happened for us. Our dog LOVES these! We have a 12 year old 80 laboradoodle. LOVES to chew but fussy. Won’t chew on Nylabones, and Kong/rubber things are destroyed in MINUTES. We started with “Everlasting” items - they work well, but he ultimately chews/cracks their dense rubber holders after a couple weeks loosening their grip rendering them useless as the chews then pop out easily (since they get mushy quick.) The last 2 Yak bones we’ve ordered had a dark brown side and seemed more oval (wider) and flatter...not sure why - we’ve gotten this brand before and they’ve all looked more like the photo. Didn’t seem to make a difference though, in fact, actually may have lasted a bit longer. These do not get mushy and totally satisfy his desire to chew. I do think the size matters! We MUST get the largest size possible (just so he won’t try to put entire thing in his mouth as the ends get smaller. These are hard and I’m afraid he’ll crack his teeth Until the saliva softens the ends a bit - it sounds like he’s biting a ROCK! I’m happy with this brand/size as lasts him 2-3 “sessions.” Some brands definitely seems to soften sooner but these seem hardy. He usually stops - or I usually take it away from him after 30 minutes or so, since that seems to be enough activity time for his “need” to gnaw something. Here’s a photo after 1 session, and the smaller one is after 3 sessions. I wish they would last WEEKS....but its a great treat and makes him happy. Only 4 starts because @ $2.5 cost each chew session its pricey but a necessity for our dog’s chewing instinct.… more
Himalayan Chews poor quality
on Feb 15, 2019
Occasionally in past orders of Himalayan chews I have received a few that r darker in color and more shallow but my last few orders have been only darker and more shallow. These r not the same quality as the lighter colored and thicker chews. It usually takes my Rottweiler more than a day sometimes several days but not the new ones that I have received. She goes through these in less than a day!
These break apart easier and make quite a mess. I’m going to stop future shipments and shop for a better quality Himalayan chew.

I would not recommend this brand for Himalayan yak chews. Compared to others I have purchased, the quality of this particular chew was not up to par. I know these are natural and will vary from piece to piece, however one appeared to be moldy and the other just did not look quite right compared to high quality chews I have purchased else where. I wasn’t comfortable giving these to my dogs- they will be returned.
it does last, great price on chewy
on Jan 10, 2019
I paid $6 more for this at a store (same brand, same size). Wish I got it on chewy first. My 70lb Aussie loves it and after like 5 hours he only got a little of one end off. He was physically exhausted after chewing it for so long before I took it away. The next day, he had an easier time getting it started and breaking chunks off. I only got one and haven't tried it with my power chewer Catahoula/cattle dog yet, but I suspect she will wipe this thing out much faster. My Aussie is not hardcore so this is a good long lasting chew for him. It did make a bit of a mess (see pic).
It has a weird smell, and at first I thought something was burning! Nope this thing just smells like a fireplace.
Did NOT Last like others have
on Feb 7, 2019
The natural Himalayan yak milk treats are expensive everywhere from what I've noticed. This brand was not cheaper than other brands and it did not last more than 10 minutes. I had to take it away right away b/c it was crumbling as he chewed, just like it was a dog biscuit (but a little harder). . Maybe others were more lucky with this product but it's not a good value at all when it doesn't last.
Not sure if she likes it
on Feb 19, 2019
Well, it's true that it's long lasting. We've had it for a week now, but Gordy hasn't chewed it. She carries it wherever she lays and doesn't want cats or RC cars to come near it, but she hasn't licked or chewed it at all. Maybe she is saving it for later. I'll continue to wait and see
Not Long Lasting At All
on Dec 24, 2018Top 1000 Contributor
It only took 15 minutes for my 40 lb dog to destroy and shatter it. It took our 100 lb dog 30 min. One was yellow and one was brown and the yellow one shattered instantly when she started eating it. She really hated the outer layer and left it for me to clean, our other dog didn't even want to eat her pieces. I was really hoping for a long chew given the reviews and price that wasn't a raw hide. They did like it though just wish it at least lasted a couple hours.

My dog was so happy when he got this. He went around hiding it and whining with joy. He is small 12 lb puppy and has had it for 3 weeks and is about half way through it with chewing it constantly. One piece broke off so I tested microwaving it cause I heard it puffs it up to a crunchy treat. It worked and he loved it but it smelt so be warned! But love it. Will definitely get another
Not the same as they used to be
on Jan 19, 2019
We have noticed a change in the chews over the past 6 months or so, and actually it doesn't seem to matter where we buy them from. Lately they are flatter, darker in color, and are much more fragile. The pup chips them apart very quickly now. They also don't puff up the same in the microwave- they turn brown and don't have the pleasant cheesy bread smell. I'll keep buying because he loves them, it's just a shame because they don't last as long.
Packaging Different than Listing Photo
on Jan 17, 2019
Actual package has no country of origin while online photo. I’m weary of giving treats to my dogs that might be made in China or God knows where. It would be advisable if QT (company) can list on their packages the country of origin of where these products are from. (See photo.)
