Optimal substrate for terrarium set-ups incorporating reptiles, amphibians, or invertebrates
Excellent premium product. Substrate is finer that I was expecting but not a problem, not dusty at all. Holds moisture well.
I was hoping this substrate would be a bit more moist or at least hold the moisture, and it seems pretty similar to other brands and it dry and dusty. I add moisture, but it dries out quickly.
I have not introduced anything new into my reptile room in ages, and now I have mites on all of my ball pythons. Do not recommend. Buy repti chip it's worth the price.
24 quarts is a LOT. I cleaned his cage & added most of it. I think he likes it... I do!
I tried this for the first time to use in a tank for a corn snake. The snake is happy and I am happy. Good quality, good price.
Great product it!
First time buying. It seems to have plastic pieces in it. Like small plastic chunks and small strips of plastic bag. I typically use EcoEarth but that has been extremely hard to find in 24quart bags. Bought this instead for my tortoise. It is really dry. There is no moisture. It is not fine like EcoEarth; it is more like dry, clumpy, long cut grass.
If you have a snake that has trouble shedding due to dry substrate such as paper towels, this will help them shed if kept moist, & misted daily.
I have used different bedding materials for my ball pythons and after trying the coconut bedding I will never try another.. They loved it! Other types they never burrowed under it but now I have to search for them lol.. this is truly a great product, it hold humidity really great and little to zero dust, I have yet to find any mold like i did with plain wood chips
I bought this based off of the review of the others here. Since I have many reptiles and most of them are snakes, I buy in bulk. Especially when I haven't been able to find my usual Eco Earth ANYWHERE...not even online. I love my Eco Earth and was excited at the prospect of this being even better! And with the problem I had been having finding coconut substrate, I didn't want this one to be the next one targeted. I ordered enough to do each tank 2 times. And wouldn't you know...I hate it. It is dryer than Eco Earth. I expected it to be dry as stated and was prepared to put water in it...but you have to put SO. MUCH. WATER. It is UNREAL how much you have to saturate this stuff for it to hold moisture any amount of time. And I disagree that its less dusty than Eco Earth. I don't understand that one in the slightest. Maybe its just me. I am picky when it comes to my reptiles. After I finish this up I will be sticking with my Eco Earth.
