Will this fit in a door frame that has 2 inches width of available space for the mounting hardware?

This gate requires a minimum space of 3 inches to properly install the mounting hardware.

When the gate is open, how wide is the opening? Will a person in a wheelchair’s be able to get through?p If not, is the gate easy to take down and put back up again for someone to go through?

The width of door opening for this gate is 20 inches wide when opened. A person in a wheelchair cannot get through the gate because there is bottom frame that is attached to the floor. The gate itself weighs about 37 pounds. It is possible to take it down without any tools, but because of the weight of the gate, it is not easy to take down and put back up again.

Can this be installed in an actual doorway without removing the door?

The installation of the gate depends on the thickness of the wall. The wall needs to be at least 3.9 inches wide for proper installation. Additionally, if there is a door knob in the way, it may prevent the gate from closing or being installed correctly. Please refer to the attached instruction manual for further details. Please note that the ability to install the gate can vary based on the door knob's location and design. Sometimes, it may interfere with installation or prevent the gate from closing properly.

Can you latch and unlatch the door from both sides?

I have the beige one which blends in nicely w my off white walls. I have 2 new kittens and use this in my foyer to keep them from darting out the entry door. They

I have the beige one which blends in nicely w my off white walls. I have 2 new kittens and use this in my foyer to keep them from darting out the entry door. They cant get through the bars at 4 months and I doubt they will get over the top as adults unless they can jump that high, nothing to get a toehold on to scale. I put it together by myself in about 1 hour, good directions. 2 people would definitely be easier. A tip for sliding top and bottom bars together is to elevate the bars at the bottom to line up with the holes more easily. I used a piece of styrofoam from the packing. See photos.

Ease of install

Being a 70 year old woman needing to separate my senior cat from the younger 2 in my 1880's house this was the perfect fit. Didn't take a brain surgeon to assemble

Being a 70 year old woman needing to separate my senior cat from the younger 2 in my 1880's house this was the perfect fit. Didn't take a brain surgeon to assemble was able to do by myself and the door to the gate works just as it should. Now the cats can look and see and smell each other but can't attack and possibly hurt themselves. Would recommend to anyone in need of it

Great protection

Cats can’t squeeze thru bars or jump over top. Everyone has freedom without being trapped in a single room, great investment!

Pretty Good

The gate is of good quality, though the vertical bars have far too much wiggle and the cat can fit an arm through. Would be better if it was another 6 to 12 inches

The gate is of good quality, though the vertical bars have far too much wiggle and the cat can fit an arm through. Would be better if it was another 6 to 12 inches tall. I've used chicken wire to block the top and stop cat from reaching through. Overall good quality.

Great door for introducing cats

This is a good door to close off a room while introducing a new cat. One of our existing cats isn’t very friendly, so when we brought in a new youngster we needed

This is a good door to close off a room while introducing a new cat. One of our existing cats isn’t very friendly, so when we brought in a new youngster we needed a way to separate them, while allowing them to see & smell each other. Be careful when assembling, if the rods don’t line up just right, they can separate and a cat can get its head thru the bars. Our youngster (18 months) got his head caught in them twice before we took the door apart and fixed them. Once they were aligned, the door worked great.
