Roudybush Daily Maintenance Mini Bird Food

My four birds were weaned onto Roudybush, so I have not had to deal with transitioning. It's important to remember that birds may need a little convincing to try something new and just because they refused once, doesn't mean you should stop trying. I have a black capped conure, lovebird, two linnies, and we've tried the nibbles, but came back to mini. For the price difference, if these are too big just crush with a hammer, problem solved. As for any insects, this is a top quality product, but it's never a bad idea to just pop the bag (of any bird foods) in the freezer for a few days to make sure anything is dead. For the amount you get this is one of the better prices to pay for food pellets. My lovebird took no time at all to transition to this, and the pellet is perfectly sized for him. I am happy that this food doesn’t make as much dust as the other pellet brands have in the past. While some may see the addition of alfalfa to the recipe as a "cheap" filler, I actually see this as a benefit as my lovebird refuses to eat any sort of fresh greens in his diet. My only concern is it has the ability to stink up a room when left out in large quantities (easily remedied by feeding in smaller portions to limit the smell), but that doesn’t stop me from recommending this to bird owners who need to find a healthy For the amount you get this is one of the better prices to pay for food pellets. My bird will not eat this. Have tried mixing other stuff with it

Following the vets advice, I’m switching my Budgie over to pellet food. I first, mixed them with her seeds. After tasting it, she slid to the other end of her perch, and would not return to her dish. I had to give her seeds that evening. After 3 days of this, I decided to put the pellets in my Ninja, and ground them to powder and small pieces. (The pellets are long). I tried wetting it, and giving them to her, with seeds (in a mush). She ate very little. The next day, I gave her 2 tablespoons of seeds, and poured the powder and small pellets on top ( no water this time). I then, shook the dish to mix it up. Have fed this to my quaker parrot for years. Roudybush is the best of the best. Be careful of other brands with flavors and anything other than the pure pellets.

I bought this for my parakeets and the pieces are way too long for their beaks. They prefer to also pop open seeds and small circular food VS this. I am giving the bag away locally because they will not eat it.

I have six birds (2 lovebirds and 4 Green Cheek Conures), they all love this food. it is a bit on the expensive side, but it's definitely the healthier route for them and I'm willing to pay more for them to be healthy. This bag didn't last me long at all so I no longer buy it in such small qualities, as I was buying 2 bags a month. For the first time last month, I bought this in bulk (25lbs) so hopefully, that will last me a bit. I would definitely recommend this food for anyone wanting to buy healthy pellets for their birds. The size mini is good for my birds, if you have birds with the ability to hold their food you can try getting the size up as that's the size my Conures prefer. I bought this for my parakeet. Well the pellets are too big for the parakeet. So I bought Finch food. Is way better. But for the lovebirds and the cockatiels it's great.
