Where are the ingredients sourced from?

Answer by ChewyFeb 16, 2023
All of Royal Cani's ingredients are carefully selected for the health and well-being of the cats and dogs they feed. For this reason, they are committed to sourcing the ingredients from suppliers located near our manufacturing facilities whenever possible. Regardless of a raw material’s country of origin, food quality and safety are Royal Canin’s top priority, so we do not release the supplier’s location. All the raw materials are monitored and checked by Royal Canin’s laboratory quality team. They have manufacturing facilities in Nebraska, Missouri, South Dakota and Guelph Canada. Royal Canin feels that the most comprehensive approach to ensuring the quality and safety of its ingredients centers around conducting stringent tests on the ingredients at multiple stages of production rather than focusing on the country of origin.

Will not purchase again, unfortunately, Royal Canin Cavalier food did not sit well with our one Cavalier. Gave him a belly ache for days. Donated the entire bag

Will not purchase again, unfortunately, Royal Canin Cavalier food did not sit well with our one Cavalier. Gave him a belly ache for days. Donated the entire bag to a local animal shelter. Will continue to order their RX food though. It happens, sometimes food is not compatible with pets.

They are tailored for my dog's breed.

They are a good sized kibble and rich brown. My dogs love them and I feel like I am feeding them what the need because they are breed developed.

Excellent kibble

All CKCSs seem to love this kibble. It is pricey so I use it as a treat and call them “cookies”! Prime for promoting good behaviour as a training treat that is healthy

Way Too Expensive

My dog likes it, but spending so much money for a ten pound bag is way, way, way too expensive!

Pup didn’t like it.

His puppy for is Royal Canin Small dog and he like that’s fine. I’ve introduced this gradually, mixing little in etc and he does not like it at all. Throws it up even on some occasions. So I have a 55 dollar bag of food that he won’t eat. I tried the adult small (not breed specific) and he seems to be ok with that. Not sure if they give refunds.

My Cavalier has a low grade heart murmur so his cardiologist recommended this food. Trouble was that even at smaller servings he started gaining weight. I switched back to the balanced homemade recipe I had him on before and the murmur has remained low grade while he is now back to his ideal weight.

Our vet recommended this for our Cavapoo when he was a puppy and we kept using until he was 4. But there have been improvements with more human grade kibble, which we switched to when we got a second dog with allergies. Thought the grain might be the culprit. It wasn’t, but our dogs much prefer the human grade kibble
