Transition Instructions
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

Answer by • Jan 02, 2020
On a dry matter basis, this formula has approximately 80.01 grams per 1000 calories of carbohydrates, 3.76 milligrams per 1000 calories of copper, 54.43 grams per 1000 calories of zinc, and 2.23 grams per 1000 calories of phosphorous.
Does this food contain any prebiotics or probiotics? I do not these listed in the nutrition info.

This Digestive Care formula contains digestible proteins. It is based on a blend of prebiotics and dietary fibers (including psyllium seed husk) to promote a balance in the intestinal flora and help regulate intestinal transit.

how many cups are in a 3 pound bag of this food?
Answer by • Feb 19, 2018
There will be approximately 4 cups per pound of kibble. The 3 pound bag will have close to 12 cups, the 6 pound bag close to 24 cups.
In late July, my boy Arwen threw up. He never does that. As soon as he threw up, he threw up again. I picked him up and he was burning up. We rushed him to the vet and his fever was deathly high. He received an antibiotic shot and some take home meds. After a few days he started to eat on his own again. During all this his sister Smeagol also got deathly ill but not as bad as Arwen, her immune system isn’t hyperactive like his.
We got them eating and drinking again on their own but their stool was still type 5 or type 6. We tried dried pumpkin. Probiotics. Smeagol normalized first but Arwen kept having issues. Our vet recommended this food to start and to stop the dried pumpkin and the probiotic. He’s been on this now at 100% for 48 days. He went from having type 5 stool 3-4 days a week to having 1 type 5 back on Nov 9 and only 2 type 4 stool. He’s mainly type 2 and type 3, which is AMAZING! This food gave my boy back his happiness and playfulness. It’s amazing. I can’t say enough good things. He will still sometimes go 2x a day but it’s (knock on wood) always between a type 2 and 4, never a type 5. For types I used Purina Stool Chart.
We learned it was canned pumpkin that we were giving them that gave them a bacterial infection. As a result of that infection, our vet said it activated a pre-existing condition in both - IBS. Without this food, I’m not sure where we would be with their health.

UFOs are a big hit with the kitties
I have a hard time keeping the bowls of this UFO-shaped kibble filled. My kitties yum the UFOs down as though we've been starving them. I have to order two bags every three weeks for my tribe of six cats, and that's even with feeding the kitties canned food and another kibble.
One cat, who has refused for eight years to eat nothing but one type of kibble (also Royal Canin, also expensive), eats this kibble.
I'd give this kibble five stars except the price is exorbitant.

Terrific Product
Not sure why, but our cat LOVES this dry food. She'll hunt me down when it's time, give 1 meow and run to the kitchen cabinet where I keep her supplies. She's smart and I'm keeping her healthy.

The cat did NOT throw up again.
It was like we flipped a switch. Our one cat always ate until he threw up. Not everyday but multiple times a week. We were over it. We introduced this food and it stopped. Just. like. that. Both our cats eat it. I’m sold. Thank you.

My cat actually likes it and eats it
Yes, it's expensive but it's the only specialty food my cat will eat - and she loves it. I think it does help with her digestive issues so it's worth it.

helped for my cats
My cats have recently made a change in food, now that they are a bit older. I noticed they were struggling to bite through many of the crunchy foods I had been feeding them. They also would gag or vomit into their mouth a lot and that looked painful and broke my heart. They started to lose the desire to eat and I knew I had to do something. I tried 10 different brands and varieties along the way and I can honestly say Royal Canine Digestive along with the Royal Canine Glycobalance for cats gave my cats back the enjoyment they have always gotten from eating. I do also use 1 other brand. From us to You, we say Thank You :)

My Emily loves the food however.....
My Emily doesn't vomit, have diarrhea, or really has constipation but her poop tends to be hard and she only poops every other day. I thought I would try this food to see if the psyllium husk would help but it seems like it made her poop harder. She loves the food and will keep adding a little tiny bit to her old food so I don't waste the bag.
