RC Changes of Digestive kibble formula and shape

In spite of the priciness of the RC Digestive cats food kibble, I have fed it to my five indoor fur balls for two years or so because I firmly believed it was the best for the three senior ones. All five loved it and their frequent vomiting had subsided. But since the changes made to the food, which was noticed the moment I opened that first bag of the formula and got a whiff of the contents (ugh!!), the furries have not been eating it without throwing up again. Please, can RC possibly return to the original product? Was this change brought on to save money on their part? Savings were not passed on to the consumers. Rather, the price just keeps going up, and I’m weary of wiping the vomit from it off my floors and watching my Stanley being hungry all the time. I’m actively searching for a replacement for RC. Not worth it. My babies deserve better.

Formula change ruined the product

This cat food was perfect for my cat who likes to inhale her food. The large disks forced her to chew instead of eating the kibble whole. Used it for 2 years with no problems, it was the only cat food that I found worked for her. They’ve changed the design and now the disks are too small. She can eat each piece without chewing, ruining the entire point of the design. I wish they had kept the design the same as this will no longer work. She eats the kibbles whole and then throws them up.

Taking Care of My Cat

My 17-year-old cat was diagnosed with IBS a year ago and it's been a struggle to keep his diarrhea under control. Our veterinarian gives him steroid shots every few months which, with the help of Royal Canin Digestive Care food, has managed to help my cat tremendously. I have two other cats who are healthy, but eat the Royal Canin too. All three cats like the taste, which is an even better help.

Quality Control Issues

Like many people who have commented, I was disappointed in the size/format change of this food. Luckily, my cats will still eat it, but they still have vomiting issues on occasion that they didn't have with the previous size food. But now with my most recent order, as I was pouring the food into a storage container, I noticed that there were a few large, cashew-shaped pieces. The more I looked, the more I found. For as expensive as this food is, I'd expect better quality control. After this, I may just finally give up on it and look for another brand that my cats will tolerate.

Do not buy this product. It was good previously and my cats loved it. Now they’ll still eat it but it causes terrible diarrhea. I’ve had to go to the vet three times to get medication to clear it up. It’s obvious they change the formula.

DO NOT BUY THIS. Change in shape/formula is NOT GOOD.

Royal Canin Digestive Care cat food has been a staple in my cats diet for several years. The food has always delivered on its promise of promoting healthy digestion and preventing stomach issues. However, I am compelled to share my recent disappointment with the product. And it seems to reflect many others opinions as well. Will the company take notes and change back? No. They don’t care. The most significant change, and in my opinion, a VERY unfortunate one, has been the alteration in kibble shape. It seems that my cat is far from pleased with this change as well. I purchased this food to slow eating and MAKE my cat chew his food. Which he had to do with the thin discs. The new shape doesn't seem to appeal to my cat's palate, as he straight up WONT away it now. when he does, the result has been quite the opposite of what I expected. He pukes it all up again. This contradicts the very reason I opted for Royal Canin Digestive Care in the first place. I hope that Royal Canin takes these concerns into consideration and reevaluates the decision to change the kibble shape. The previous formulation was highly effective in promoting my cat's digestive health, and I'm hopeful that the company can restore that level of quality and effectiveness. Until then, I'm left with a product that no longer serves its intended purpose for my picky eater. This is terrible food now, and I doubt they’ll listen to complaints.

This food really works!

My cat was having trouble with loose stools even after a grain free diet. I tried Royal Canin Digestive and within a free days she was back to normal. She loves the food on top of it being good for her.

Everybody loves it

Because it's so expensive, I tried mixing this kibble with a less expensive but still high-quality brand. My six cats ate their way around the cheaper food, leaving it at the bottom of the dish. I have given up and use only this product now. I wish Royal Canin would make a bag larger than 6 pounds and charge a bit less per pound.

why change what was so good?

i was just about to reorder this for my cat who has a sensitive stomach and eats way too fast. the thin discs were perfect for him because it forced him to chew his food (if it's balls of kibble then he'll just swallow it and he'll throw it up). i cant give him wet food, he wont eat it. i loved this brand because he stopped throwing up every time he ate and it forced him to chew his food with the size of the discs. i ordered it again in may and say they werent has thin or as big when i first ordered them but still enough of a size where he wouldnt just swallow them. and now you guys have changed it again to a size i wont be able to give him. now i have to track down another brand in hopes someone has what RC had. why change something that was so perfect for cats with digestive problems and refusal to chew?

RC you made my cat sick!

Do not buy! I have been feeding my cat this for years and had it in auto ship. RC changed the formula and my cat has had diarrhea ever since! I won’t be buying it again. So disappointed!
