Maintaining a healthy weight can help support your cat’s overall health. When itcomes to your cat’s weight, your veterinarian is the expert. You should always consult with your vet to find the best solutions and management options for your pet.

Assessing Your Cat’s Weight

There are 9 body condition scores used to assess a cat’s weight. Talk to your veterinarian about which matches your cat.

  1. LOOK – Check your cat’s body shape to see whether she is very thin, an ideal weight or overweight.
  2. FEEL – Severely defined ribs and waist may mean your cat is very thin. Ribs easily felt but not seen, with an obvious weight, may mean she is an ideal weight. If you cannot her feel ribs and her waist is absent, your cat maybe obese.
  3. WEIGH – Work with your veterinarian to identify your cat’s weight and body condition score to help your vet determine your cat’s nutritional needs.

Royal Canin Satiety

Royal Caninin is a good product. But this kind SMELLS awful! My cat absolutely refuses to eat it. If I can't stand the smell, and the cat can't stand the smell, there is not way that this can be a good product.

Helped lose and manage weight for joint problems

My vet prescribed this to help my kitty lose a bit of weight due to her joint problems. She immediately loved this food. I fed her Royal Canin kitten food when she was a kitten so maybe that helped but I caught my other two cats stealing some leftovers one time so it must taste good. This definitely helped my kitty lose weight and reduce some stress on her joints. I’m giving it 4 stars because this food is only available in one flavor and my kitty gets bored of eating the same food so I have to switch between a couple other brands and this one to keep her interested.

Cat loves it

Hoping this will help our 25lbs kitty lose some weight. She seems to be slowing down and not rushing to eat the other cats food but it doesn't last very long. She is definitely hungry again by the next feeding.

Cat loves it. It has helped with her satiety, but it took some time.

In the beginning my cat was used to scarfing up a lot of food. I still wonder if she had a binge-eating disorder, because she scarf-and-barfed all the time. I use this satiety support and a pet food puzzle. Over time she has regained trust that food will be around, and I am also noticing she is needing less and less food because it's actually making her feel full. It looks boring, but she immediately caught onto this food. I weaned her off of her old food and as I did, she picked out the Royal Canin before she had to settle for the old food left in the bowl. It wasn't too tough to convert her to the Royal Canin Satiety Support; however, it was still tough because I believe with all of the fiber they metabolize it a bit differently. So she was confused about how much she should consume even after feeling full - it took a while to take away the habit part of eating. Now that that is under control, (with the help of the food puzzle as well,) she's a happy kitty. She has lost one lb in 10 weeks and is much more active. She is acting like a kitty again at 5 years old. She still has 2.2 more lbs to lose before her first goal, which is her goal by the end fo the year.

Cats like Morsels Better Than Loaf

We tried the Satiety Support for our 2 Maine Coons. They liked it at first but soon lost interest. Also, the large can took 3 days to use up. We tried the 3-oz cans of the morsels, and they love it. Also, I can split a can between them and not have leftovers.

Hoover loves this!

I had been buying my cat Hills Prescription Diet Metabolic food but for some reason it has been unavailable.. So I asked my vet about another weight control wet food. She suggested this. I bought a case and my cat loves it!

Satiety Support

Love the 3oz cans of morsels in gravy. My cats love it and I struggled to get them to eat the satiety in pate form. So happy for this change!!

My cat wouldn't eat this food.

I tried mixing it with his regular food but he still wouldn't eat it.
