Can this be used on cats?

Answer by ChewyAug 02, 2020
This grooming tool may be used for dogs and cats. For pets with extra thick, heavy coats, the double-row rake features dual-length pins for maximum performance.

What are the measurements of the rake? Especially the two rows of teeth. What are the teeth made of? Plastic?

Answer by ChewyMay 31, 2020
This grooming tool measures 6.25 inches long by 4.25 inches wide. This rake features 2 rows of rotating metal pins.

Can this be used for a mini Aussie?

Answer by ChewyMay 28, 2020
This grooming tool is best for breeds with dense undercoats and prevents matting with regular use.

I have a single row non rotating undercoat rake that works fine with his sister (Siberian Husky) but not well on him. My son has very long fur & it's extremely thick. This rake has worked & helped a lot better in removing all his loose undercoat that needs to be removed. The rotating pins have helped to loosen minor tangles. I would NOT recommend a rake of any kind for any matting issues as you can cause them more unnecessary pain, discomfort & damage to the healthy fur strands which is why I have a de-matting brush for safe help with matting. In conclusion, this rake is definitely worth the purchase as there is NO 1 brush that can or will take care of all fur types as well as different fur issues. Please be responsible & safe by buying/having different brushes needed for your babies fur type & needs. FYI I also bought nail clippers by this same company & it was also worth it!

Effective

Works great on my Aussie. He even seems to really enjoy it when used on his back and stomach. Maybe it feels like a massage?

Not good on dense coats

I have a 20 year old Safari brush that is the best one I've ever had. I thought this would be similar, but the way the tines rotate and the length of them (my old brush's tines are half as long) make the brush just not work. I am using on dogs with lots of fur, and it's usually very easy to get fur off of them, and this brush just glides through and doesn't catch or hang onto anything. Really frustrating.

It didn't work well

I was hoping this would help me remove more hair from my dog but it doesn't help at all.

I recently had the chance to use this on my new puppy. I bought the brush a while ago but he wasn't old enough to have his "grown up hair" yet so I just tried using it. What a waste of money - I had a single row one for years that was great and I'm really sorry I gave it away. I'm going to have to buy something else. It doesn't pull the dead hair out at all, at least not on my boy. It seems to just glide over the top, look elsewhere for a brush in my opinion.
