This freeze-dried cat food is great for on the go meals or as regular meals for kitties either as a treat topper or regular meal. Being able to have a lightweight meal that's easy to transport and rehydrate makes freeze dried food a great option. Not only is it lighter in weight, but the freeze drying process retains up to 97% of the nutrients vs other preservation options. I was excited to give this food a try, I gave my kitty some dry and rehydrated some to see if she would like it both ways, she did. When you rehydrate I'd suggest using hot or almost boiling water, it took about 10 mins to rehydrate with hot water from the tap. Just be sure to check the temp before giving it to your kitty. After awhile I learned of my mistake.... my kitty ended up with an upset tummy and threw up the food. I tried a few days later and the same thing happened, so I'd definitely go slow with transition if you want to use this food, or just use sparingly as a treat. Since I was trying it out I didn't gradually change her food since long term she's going to stay on her existing food for now. Just be aware it's best to slow transition generally for any pet.
