I give to my 15.5 year old CKD kitty
By Glen on Feb 21, 2021
Weruva is not officially for cats with kidney disease, but my cat doesn't like the prescription food and with this product Weruva is offering a high-quality protein with other nutrients and reasonably low phosphorus levels (the Weruva site has excellent nutrition info for all its products, including protein and phosphorus levels.) For variety I also give her the Weruva Fowl Ball (lower protein than this one, so perhaps better for CKD depending on your school of thought) and Funk in the Trunk, as well as the Cats in the Kitchen pouches, which from the nutrition info on their website appear to be among their other lower-phosphorus offerings. My cat eats the products quite happily, and I'm happy Weruva is not officially for cats with kidney disease, but my cat doesn't like the prescription food and with this product Weruva is offering a high-quality protein with other nutrients and reasonably low phosphorus levels (the Weruva site has excellent nutrition info for all its products, including protein and phosphorus levels.) Waste of money - disappointed
By Cat5MN on Feb 16, 2021
5 cats - they all hate it. If I only put this food down, they will eat nothing all day. It smells fine to me. They don't seem to like shredded food - prefer pate type food. Even so, they won't even taste it. Just circle around it and smell it and walk away. Unfortunately, I have a whole case of this, so I keep trying. I mix in other food they like, and they will try to eat around it or wont eat at all. Strange. Most if it ends up going down the garbage disposal.

Chicken in Gelatin
By Soccrwon on Jan 11, 2021
This certainly has the look of fresh shredded chicken, but I was less enthused about the clear jelly that surrounds it. I think moms in 1970s with their jello molds would have really liked this, but my millennial-self can’t get past the agar appearance.

Not to Goo's standards
By Gooble on Nov 28, 2020
Texture, color and odor are all up to my standards (smells pretty close to canned human food, like tuna) and I was very optimistic that my 11 year old cat would like this food based on the texture alone, since texture for him is everything. But, unfortunately, he does the same thing he does with most other canned wet foods: lick all the liquid and leave the actual shredded meat in the dish. My roommate's cat likes it, though. She will pretty much eat anything, so not sure how helpful that is.

This is a huge hit!
By Cakegirl on Dec 12, 2020
My picky cats inhale this food! They never liked anything until I found this particular flavor of Weruva. I’m going to try a few others—I’ll get they’ll like those, too. The food itself looks like human grade. The only negative are the cans—they’re very tall so it’s hard to store them. Minor complaint.

My cats love this!
By Cheryl on Jan 27, 2021
My cats come running when they smell Chicken Frick 'A Zee! This is their favorite and they eat the entire bowl which doesn't happen with some of the other flavors.

Packed with chicken
By RoniJ on Nov 2, 2020 Top 50 Contributor
I just added this to the rotation of Weruva canned foods for my two cats. Most of their other varieties are seafood-based and I wanted to work some other protein into their diet. They've enjoyed Paw Lickin' Chicken before, but it was impossible to discern the difference between the two from ingredients description. This one was considerably less expensive. Upon opening the first can it was obvious - this is densely packed with shredded chicken, not soupy at all the way Paw Lickin' can be. If I have some left in the can and need to refrigerate, I can add some hot water to generate more broth and they still love it. Highly recommended.

Good product but not everyone likes it
By 6meows4me on Jan 17, 2021
I have 6 kitties and I think half of them actually like this food. The au jus isn’t as saucy as I had hoped. My cats actually like the gravy instead of the meat.

Change In Consistency, Color and Texture! Nooooo!
By Georgiao on Nov 14, 2020
I have been feeding my ragdoll this particular food for some time. Just received another shipment from Chewy and disappointed to see a stark change in consistency, color and texture! The food has always been filled with shredded chicken, and honestly looked good enough for human consumption! Not now! What's going on Weruva??? Less shredded chicken. Grayish color. Runny. Looks like it may have ground meat in it? Nothing on the label appears to have changed, BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME FOOD IN QUALITY OR APPEARANCE! I don't know what is going on, but when customers consistently purchase a particular food for their furbaby, ESPECIALLY A QUALITY FOOD FOR A FURBABY WITH AN ILLNESS I have been feeding my ragdoll this particular food for some time. Please go back to the old formula! Ordinarily, I would happily rate this food 5 stars, but not this batch. … more
