My Golden Retriever was on prescription dog food for about 9 months when I got him due to gastroenteritis for 5 months straight . Needless to say, I was hesitant to change it when he turned one. He had zero problems, no adjustment period, and he seems to like it. The 4 stars is more so that it’s pricey for only a 22lb bag .

Helped our dog quite a bit initially but within the last two months they changed something in the food. Food looked a bit different (lighter in color) and immediately gave our dog diarrhea who's been on it almost a year. Food wasn't expired but figured I'd try another bag. Same thing, and on our third bag of the "new formula" and his itching continues to get worse. Going to switch foods entirely here soon.

Outstanding option when feeding a hydrolized protein diet

If a food trial is recommended for your dog, this food is an outstanding option versus prescription food. Just compare the ingredients. Square Pet offers hydrolized protein as the 1st ingredient versus the RX food which is corn starch, and my guy loves this stuff.

Dog Hated It

My dog hated this food and refused to eat it. Tried mixing it with the wet food version and she still wouldn’t touch it. Was also very expensive.

Good alternative to prescription diets

One of the few non prescription Hydrolyzed protein kibbles on the market. Contains pork instead of the usual soy, chicken or fish.

Solved My Dog's Digestive Issues

My dog Chaplain was sick for years, and while a hydrolyzed protein diet helped, the main ingredient in the prescription dog foods caused concerning side-effects

My dog Chaplain was sick for years, and while a hydrolyzed protein diet helped, the main ingredient in the prescription dog foods caused concerning side-effects. SquarePet VFS Skin & Digestive Support Dry Dog Food has saved my dogs health and well-being, and he loves it! After a gradual transition to SquarePet he is a happy and healthy dog. Because I am able to mix the SquarePet VFS Skin & Digestive Support Dry Dog Food with the SquarePet VFS Skin & Digestive Support Wet Dog Food, Chaplain no longer regurgitates up his food. Plus SquarePet sells hydrolyzed protein treats, so my dog no longer needs to live a treat-less existence. I highly recommend these products!

Limited Ingredients

I liked it has limited Ingredients, not as many fillers as other brands. My pup like it just fine. If over time it helps her skin and itching it will be a win for

So not sure if this company changed their recipe or something but the kibble looks way different than any other time. Also, my dog has never gone to the bathroom

So not sure if this company changed their recipe or something but the kibble looks way different than any other time. Also, my dog has never gone to the bathroom in my house and once I started feeding him from this specific bag of kibble he had horrible diarrhea for 3 days and I’m having to ease him back into the kibble which is weird since he’s been eating this exact same food for over 6 months now. I was not happy about this. Considering how expensive this bag of food is.
