Both packs I got of these suet cakes grew mildew within a 3 day period and the birds will not touch them now.
The different types of suet are attracting new birds. The cage is sturdy and easy to use.
The wildbirds in my area love these. That is why I buy them.
I have several Downy woodpeckers who come to eat the suet. I purchased this carton because it included the feeder. I think a squirrel took mine off the shepherd’s hook and stole it. Now I’ll have a new one. The small chickadees, titmouse, finches& wrens eat it also. Do you have the suet squares that have red pepper flakes or other squirrels deterrents? The bird seed I buy has red pepper flakes which the squirrels hate, but it doesn’t bother the birds. These are great, but I’d like to keep the squirrels out of it. I feed the critter corn, sunflowers & peanuts on a ground platform for the squirrels & chipmunks. Your suet is the best 5 stars!
If you enjoy feeding the birds, this is a nice bundle at a great price. I have Scrub Blue Jays that love these cakes!
Birds of all species make short work of St. Albans Suet Plus.
Too bad the cakes don't. The cherry crunch, the only one I've put out so far, had an unpleasant fake-cherry smell. The reason it's the only one put out so far is the birds are not eating it. (While happily eating others from a different company.) The free cage that comes with is flimsy and easily opened. There's a reason things seem like too good a deal, folks. No stars.
Birds don’t like or. Aren’t touching it. I put 2 different kinds in.
