I've never really considered fresh dog food, but this product had me curious. The limited ingredients caught my eye as my 8 year old mixed terrier Scout has a sensitive stomach. The box of food arrived on Wednesday morning. It was packaged so well with insulation and six bags of dry ice. The box was absolutely freezing and the product was rock hard. I unpacked the contents, closed the box flaps and tossed the box on my deck so the dry ice could safely evaporate. I left it there in the 90 degree heat for two full days. On Friday, I took the box to the garage to break it down. Most of the dry ice had evaporated, but the inside of the box was still extremely cold and FROSTY. The quality of insulation inside the box was mind blowing. I couldn't believe it. I just had to give kudos to Chewy regarding that. The food itself looked good once it thawed. The fish smell was not overpowering. I mixed the food up with a spoon and set it down for my dog. She sniffed at it for a few seconds, and I wondered if she found the cod smell off-putting as she generally eats lamb and chicken based foods. Nope, she absolutely gobbled that food up! She licked the bowl completely clean. I put her out to potty and when she came back in, she went straight for that bowl and kept licking it even though there was nothing left! I think this food will be a great supplement in rotation with her regular kibble.

I was impressed by this food as soon as I opened the package. It smells fresh. I love the fact that it only contains simple ingredients. The food has an excellent, chunky consistency and you can actually see the ingredients! The product arrived fully frozen and packaged really well. However, I only gave this product 2 stars because my dog will not touch it for some reason. I even tried opening another package just in case there was something wrong with the first one. She will not eat it cold or warm. That being said, she can be picky with her food so I'm not too surprised by this.

I purchased this at my neighborhood pet store for the first time today to give to my picky toothless senior chihuahua. While he loved the food, I found a sharp fish bone on the floor after he was finished. Further investigation into a fraction of the remaining food revealed another (1" long) fish bone. Knowing there are fish bones in this and that my dog may have consumed one terrifies me. I will never purchase this food again.

A great fresh, soft food for picky eaters, or even just to feel better about what you're feeding your dog. My dogs instantly got excited as soon as i opened the package and they could smell the food. It is pretty strong smelling. Its definitely very moist and liquidy. My two dogs I gave it to gobbled it right up and wanted more. I use it as a food topper to their regular kibble currently. Ehich makes me feel better that they're getting healthier food than a kibble each day.

The first time I fed it my 3 littles wanted nothing to do with it but my large mixed breed loved it! So I waited a week and tried it again and this time all 3 of my littles yummed it up! I got the Cod so it’s a bit stinky however I would buy this again. The packaging was a bit annoying to get the dog food out of but definitely a great dog food. I think with some if these foods you need to offer it to your pups a few times to gauge their taste buds!

I fed my dog this food for her regular meals, morning and evening. Sometimes I also put it into a Kong and refroze it, then gave it to her, which she loved. Either way, she was very excited about getting this food and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. It was also good for mixing her plaque off supplement into, as she sometimes doesn't consume all of her supplement when it's sprinkled on her kibble. I will say I did not love the packaging as it was a bit difficult to open and then messy with the flimsy plastic wrapper, and I transferred the food to a tupperware.

This food looks and smells clean and fresh. The ingredients are great and my little Dachshund seems to like it. I started out slowly with a bit mixed in with his homemade chicken topper on Purina Dog Chow dry food. The first day he got a tummy ache, but I'm not sure if it was due to the new food or just one of his sometimes tummy aches. The next day I did the same thing and he was fine. Now he can eat it without the normal chicken he got before. He always cleans his bowl and never complains about what I feed him so it's hard to tell if he likes it better than his homemade food. I know it's easier on me to feed this than boil vats of chicken, cool it, debone it and cut it up in little pieces, add rice and vegetables then package it. :) But this is also very expensive so it's a once in a while thing.

I absolutely love that Chewy has chosen to provide human grade, fresh, frozen dog food for our dogs. An additional plus for me, is that it is grain free, which was recommended for my 6.5lb Yorki Poo. I have heard small dogs are often 'pickier' eaters; however, my girl took to this just fine. I was curious, because she has never had anything from the sea!! I want to reassure any interested dog parents, this product arrived really well packaged with dry ice, and arrived fully frozen! If you are not interested in the Grain Free variety, now worries - there are other flavors that do include grains!! The convenience of this product is a plus, and may be very attractive to anyone interested in giving a human grade fresh dog food to their dog! I don't hesitate in suggesting to give this product a try.

I tried the fresh made dog food and my dogs loved it. It came fast and frozen. It was on dry ice so I don’t think there would be a chance for it to thaw even if you couldn’t get to it for a few hours. The only fault I had was that when I left it to unthaw, it was not completely sealed so it leaked. It did this with each of the four packs I had. It was a minor inconvenience but I hope they address that issue. Otherwise I would definitely recommend.

The product itself was hit & miss with my dogs. My very food-motivated pups liked it, but my foster dog - who is admittedly picky - was not interested. It is *very* fishy smelling. And I learned the hard way that the packaging is really lacking - every single pouch had at least one hole in it, so after placing in the fridge to thaw, I ended up with fishy liquid inside my fridge. I would really recommend improving the package design.
