In many cases, the surgical area for the cat is very close to the urination area. The shirt is completely closed (regardless of gender) to ensure that the entire torso of every physique is protected. Due to the specially tailored opening on the back, the majority of cats can use the litterbox while wearing the shirt fully closed. It is recommended to always supervise your cat and check for urine strains on the shirt after using the litterbox.

Will this work for a male kitten post neutering surgery?

This recovery suit is not suitable for use after neutering/castration of male cats. The surgical area after neutering/castration is not protected.

I had two kittens get spayed and neutered, so I used this one for my little girl and the other one we had for her brother. I nicknamed them Crash and Burn due to their high energy play, but these suits forced them to slow down and stay away from their surgery site so they could heal properly. The girl would stare at me and grunt, asking me to take it off of her, and the boy just begged for sympathy from the other cats. Two weeks later, both were healed perfectly. They could return to their birthday suits, and we didn't have to deal with the cone crashes or other cats licking their wounds for them. You might wash them a few times to soften them up (my girl had raw nipples by the time she got out of it, but we did wash them first), but it performed the way I needed it to. The straps on this zebra print one seem to be wider than the one on the camouflage, so you may take that into consideration when picking one out.

Waste of money

My cat measures 15” which the size chart says is a small 2X and the suit is way too small. Seriously, I waited several days for my order to arrive. In the meantime

My cat measures 15” which the size chart says is a small 2X and the suit is way too small. Seriously, I waited several days for my order to arrive. In the meantime my poor kitty has a hotspot that is scary so my Vet recommended a surgical suit to stop him from licking the area until it calmed down. I tried the surgical suit on. It’s so tight around the neck it actually scared me. I took scissors and made a slit hoping that would help him be more comfortable. All I can say is that he needed a larger size but what size I’m not sure. My cat hated this contraption which seemed like it was more of a torture device than an outfit. Once it was on my baby acted paralyzed which really frightened me so I undressed him and wasted $30. And he’s not fat. He’s a large size Oriental that’s 8 years old. Very disappointing and the item doesn’t fit per the chart. If I hadn’t cut the neck to try and make it fit I would have sent it back.

Bought to cover up hot spot licking to give time to heal. The suit went on well and cat was comfortable. Liked the no Velcro since that would have created noise

Bought to cover up hot spot licking to give time to heal. The suit went on well and cat was comfortable. Liked the no Velcro since that would have created noise causing anxiety for an already skittish cat. Wore it about 7-8 days with a break for washing suit. Unfortunately, in one evening the cat licked the back area shredding a 4 inch circular hole that was not salvageable.

Used for our baby girl after spaying. Seemed like a better alternative to the dreadful cone. She took to it quite well, but she did scratch and chew at it at the site of incision. She definitely put some holes into it but the lining inside held up through the time of healing. She looked super cute in it and it did the job. Overall, it did the job and kept her comfortable. Definitely recommend! Ps. We ordered this one + the camo and ended up using only the camo one. Tried to return this one & Chewy refunded $ without issues. They even said to donate the item rather than return it. We love Chewy!

I was concerned about cleanliness after multiple cat box visits but he had plenty of space to do his business. And to top it all off he looked very cute in it!

Bought the 3x small for my foster momma kitty who weighs around 8lbs (between 7.5lb-8lb) for her post spay surgery. It fits well and keeps her from jumping. It took her a few days to be actually be able to walk in it; she was sort of wobbling and rolling around the first 2 days but figured it out on her own. There's an opening in the back so she can use the litter box freely, and she's not able to reach her incision area. She did manage to wiggle her arms out of it twice during the week and couple of days she wore it, but her incision area was still covered and frankly the suit wasn't going anywhere. Definitely recommend this suit!!

Post surgery, worked well to keep stitches clean, cover shaved areas and kept her from reaching stitches. She was able to urinate and defecate with o issues. Tolerated

I couldn't wait to put this on my sweet girl, she has a small wound on her belly she won't stop licking. Once I got it on her, she fell over like a rag doll. I got a churu & stood about 3 feet from her & she's VERY food motivated but, she won't budge. I then propped her up in normal standing position to try to help her walk & she's not having it, she just goes limp.. I don't think a pack of coyotes would get her to move with this on, IDK what to think? I'm so disappointed, I'll have to take it off & put the cone back on, she's been this way for a few hours now.. I'm nervous she's going to potty laying down where she is.. poor girl, the cone will have to go back on, I know she hates it but her belly needs to heal before it gets infected & we have a real big problem.. I could cry..
