I'm having issues finding a suit for my standard poodle. he is very barrel chested can you assist me if this will work? or one that will perhaps

We have the suitical suit for our large (75lb) barrel chested standard poodle and I can’t recommend it enough! Dog is comfortable in it, easy for pottying. Other, cheaper options didn’t work.

I bought the XX large recovery suit for my 90 pound English Labrador. While it fits his chest snuggly, as it’s supposed to, it’s a little long and drapes down over his tail. Is the X large suit the same width in chest circumference or is it going to be even tighter than the XXL?

Would this suit work for a male recovering from neutering?

The interior of the Recovery Suit is partially light blue so fluid loss can be checked by the veterinarian or owner. In the event of fluid loss, a sanitary towel can be applied on the inside of the suit or between the double layer. If necessary, an ice pack can also be inserted between the double layer.

Great option instead of a cone or collar to prevent dog from bothering the surgical site. She had a spay and hernia fix. I ordered the black and medium + for a 38 lb Finnish Lapphund. She has a lot of fur, but the suit was a nice stretchy comfortable all covering of the surgical site. The snap closure was great to roll up for potty breaks, but it was so easy and gentle to take off for the brief outdoor missions and put back on when back inside. Washed easily, put in machine on gentle and dried on low heat, short cycle. Came out great.

This is an awesome alternative to the cone! I bought both but didn’t really use the cone at all. This suit is thin enough (we ran ACs tho only because they are large dogs in clothing and need to keep them comfortable) to get them through neuter care (22 month old brothers from same litter) and walks. So far (day 5) they haven’t figured out the snaps or we’d be screwed!! The ONLY thing I would change is the fact that you are not supposed to tumble dry. As a pet parent, I don’t have the money to buy 2 and see this as a marketing ploy. Use fabric that won’t shrink if that’s the issue. Luckily they didn’t shrink after a first wash and dry and will wash the suits and hang dry after they are done before putting them away. Thank you for making these and we highly recommend!!!

Won't work for everyone

This seemed like a promising item to help with my dog's severe skin allergies but within a few minutes of wear he bit a hole in it. I guess he was too itchy and couldn't handle it. Also I used the sizing guides but it seemed way too tight on my dog. I understand it should be snug but it seemed way too uncomfortably tight; I would've sized up one size if I had known. Thankfully chewy has a good return policy so we were able to get a refund without any hassle.

Surgical suit

I purchased this for when my male dog was neutered. I had to get it in a hurry so I couldn’t really shop around. This one worked really well. I had him wear it at

I purchased this for when my male dog was neutered. I had to get it in a hurry so I couldn’t really shop around. This one worked really well. I had him wear it at night. I did notice that other brands will have an opening for them to go to the bathroom. This one does not so I knocked one star because of that my dog ended up going out of the dog door and peed inside of it. Otherwise isn’t a problem, but you have to take it off just for them to go outside to the bathroom if you have your dog, wear it the entire day. My boy only wore his at night. He also did not fool with his stitches or anything, so I cannot really speak on how it would have protected his surgery site.

Too Loose and Thin to Protect

Got this suit to cover the area where our puppy was injured (long laceration from her lower front arm across her ribcage) as well as contain the drain tube and suction

Got this suit to cover the area where our puppy was injured (long laceration from her lower front arm across her ribcage) as well as contain the drain tube and suction. First downside is we got the suit on the smaller size based on the measurement guide and it’s still too big. The sutures still exposed beneath her front leg as labeled in the picture. Second, the material is super thin so when she licks it, it easily soaks through. Only plus is it somewhat containing the drain tube attached to her side, which wasn’t staying in place well using only an Ace bandage wrap. The pockets inside are only along the bottom area, assuming use for post sterilization, not other injuries or surgery on different parts of the body.

Great for after surgery

Tight but not too tight. Has snaps for walking. For reference he's 70 pounds and I bought the large size which was perfect.

Take cone off first!

You can definitely take the cone off long enough to put the recovery suit on! Honestly in most cases, probably do not need it after the suit is on. I’m not a vet

The color/design

It’s true to size fit and it was perfect for my dog. For reference, he’s a medium size pitbull. I liked this vs a cone bc he was more comfortable and didn’t mind

Wonderful item but smelly

The suit itself was great quality, soft fabric and worked well to keep Reminout of her sutures. My only complaint is the odor from the packaging lingers on the suit
