Allow your pooch to heal in comfort and dignity with the Suitical Recovery Suit for Dogs. A dog-preferred alternative to the dreaded cone of shame, this new approach comes with a host of perks. While traditional cones restrict normal movement and distract their sense of direction, the recovery suit solves all these problems and then some. Acting as a second skin, it allows your dog to go about his normal routine—all the while keeping the wound clean, dry and protected. All this equals less stress, a faster recovery and a happier pet. Just ask yourself, would you want to wear a cone?

Small Dogs: With small dogs, the head must be inserted first into the shirt followed by each front leg (separately) into the openings provided. The suit should then be pulled back as far as possible over your pet’s body. The two straps on the belly side are secured by threading them between the rear legs and then connecting the snaps to the upper section near the base of the tail. Make sure that there is enough room for tail movement.
Large Dogs: With large dogs (long legs) it is easier to insert one front leg followed by the head and then the other leg into the provided openings. The suit should then be pulled back as far as possible over your pet’s body. The two straps on the belly side are secured by threading them between the rear legs and then connecting the snaps to the upper section near the base of the tail. Make sure that there is enough room for tail movement.
It is comfortable, hygienic and can be washed at 30º Celsius. Do not place items in the dryer, must be air dryed.

I got this for my Boxer dog. The vet wants him in a cone for a couple of weeks so we wanted something he could sleep in. I measured my sof according to the Suitical website. The material is too stretchy. I'm thinking the company made this for the Golden Retriever's body type. If you have a thicker body dog with thicker hair this would work better for you. I'd recommend ordering a size smaller since it stretches a lot. The leg holes aren't quite right either. If this is the end-all-be-all outfit for after a procedure the bottom area definitely needs to cover more or have better leg holes. The top half up to the head fits much better than the bottom half. The washing instructions also state not to tumble dry... In what world is anyone going to air dry this every time they wash it. It's going to get dirty and smelly pretty quick. I'm not going to just buy two of them. For the price I expected a cotton/spandex blend not a cotton/lycra blend. I've followed the washing instructions exactly each time. But I think I'd be better off drying it to get it to shrink back to the original fit. Overall I'm disappointed in this product. It only lasted 4 nights and my dog is back to wearing the cone at night too.
I have used this for my cat and dog. The cat had some issues walking initially but that also meant she wasn’t jumping. My Connie Corso found that she actually loved wearing her suitical and was upset when it was time to stop wearing it. Making sure you have two so that you can wash one and wear one is important. As far as sizing if your dog is between length and weight my Cane Corso was an extra large her length was 29 and her weight was 122 pounds the neck was a little bit tight but it stretched and it allowed her to wear her collar over the top of the suit. Putting on the suit, is a little tricky, one front leg/foot, then head, the last front leg, pull the suit down to tail and snap. Remember if it is a little snug it’s ok it does stretch and animals are often comforted by a littLe compression as I have found using Thundershirts.
I have a 10 pound miniature pinscher chihuahua mix about 13 inches long. The XXS fits great. It took a few minutes for her to get used to it. Yes it is pricey, but think this is a better alternative than a cone. It was a little difficult to get on the first time, but think with practice it will get easier. She has not had surgery yet, but think this will work great.
my six month old pup wore this after she was spayed. She was in between sizes and I ordered up, which was the wrong way to go. It was too large, and she could reach under to lick her wound. Chewy replaced it with the smaller size, and it did the job! Hard and soft cones were just awful- she was always freaking out- but this suit didn't bother her at all, and it kept her protected. I rolled up the rear end of it when she needed to go out, and snapped it onto itself behind her front legs to hold in place. Easily washed, air dry. Chewy rep was great about sending me the next size, free of charge! Once I know what her adult size will be, the other will be donated to a shelter.
I jokingly called this a zoot suit - I loved this thing- It kept my dog away from the surgical siten it was easy to get on, I had to remember to quickly get it off when she had to get outside to pee! My advice is to get more than one in case your dog soils it and you have to wash it. plus, they look so freaking adorable in them!!!
Very happy with this suit as an alternative to an ecollar. Using it for post neuter. It fits well. We have a mini Australian Shepard a little on the chunky side at 53 pounds, so we ordered a M plus. It is easy to roll up when he has to go potty. Snap on the bottom to hold roll up in place. It is a little cumbersome resnapping after he comes back inside, only because he will not sit still and runs in circles while trying to put suit back in place. But, we are very happy with this suit. It has worked out perfect this week because we are having record low temps, so it doubles as a coat for him. Highly recommend. Would purchase again. Fits perfect.
Absolutely fantastic! Bought for Lacey's upcoming spay but she had other ideas. She went into heat just prior to surgery. I improvised a little using double sided tape and cut up a pee pad to act as a pad inside the suitical. I know our puppy and the doggie diapers would have been ripped off. She has no problem wearing this suit, thus keeping blood drips off our carpet. I am sure this will work great after she has her surgical procedure, down the road. Please check out pics below showinh how I cut up pee pad to use as a menstrual pad.
My Dachshund is 22 Lbs. and measured 20". She had bladder surgery to remove stones. I went with the Small+, but it was too big. I sewed up the excess, until I could reorder. This time I ordered the Small & it fits perfectly. I just roll it up when she goes outside. This is so much better than the E-Collar!!
I bought this for my dog to wear after her spay. She wore a cone for the first couple of days. On day 3, I tried switching her over to this suit. I figured she would prefer the freedom of movement and the ability to use her front paws more with toys, etc. I left it on for about 24 hours, but she just couldn't get used to it. She would continuously rub herself all over and toss herself around trying to get it off. I was worried she would hurt her incision, so I switched her back to the cone which she prefers.
This suit fit my 70 lb German Shepherd perfectly after her spay. When I took her out to go to the bathroom I would just unsnap the back and snap it to itself up and out of the way if that makes sense. She was very good about leaving her stitches alone so she only wore the suit when she was unattended during the day and at night when she slept in her crate. I bought two but I wish I had gotten three so I always had a clean, dry one ready to go.
