I purchased this suit in size S long for our 11 lb Miniature Dachshund to wear during the recovery period after spay surgery. It's snug, but that's by design. I particularly like that this suit can be rolled up and velcroed into the pocket on the back. Our dog uses potty pads on a service porch, other suits didn't have this option, and she would have had to wear a diaper, causing her additional discomfort. She didn't try to lick or chew the suit, but every dog is different. For us, it was a wienner!
Dog freaks out with cone of shame. This was a great alternative. I used size guide for my Auss and guide suggested a medium. I live very rural so bought a large just in case. Glad I did because the item runs small. Large was the right size for him. Surgery site is now healed.
I ordered the small long for our mini dachshund and it fit perfectly!! I carefully went by the instructions when measuring. I used it when she was spayed. The vets was like “what the heck is this?” when we dropped her off. lol But they were amazed by it after checking her a week later. It was easy to adjust for her to potty.
My dog is super cozy and happy in this suit during his recovery time. Thank you very much from me and Kai.
This item is wonderful! The fit was perfect and it was made very well. A+
This product is advertised as the replacement for cones after surgery (it even says it on the packaging it came in), but please use caution when/if you decide to buy it. It's made of a stretchy material so it's great if you accidentally ordered a size just a little to small for your pet and the idea behind the foldable behind part is impeccable! But that's about where the good part of my review ends unfortunately... If you have a little or big (esp big) troublemaker of a pet and you were recommended to get one of these suits, please keep the cone on. I believed the advertising and left my own doggo without her cone on, and it only resulted in more pain for her as she ripped a whole in the suit and tore out her staples. Its been a headache dealing with her after surgery and honestly this is the last thing both she and I needed right now.
This piece of material was the perfect outfit for Morna the Irish Wolfhound. It looked great, fit great, and protected her surgical site extremely well. It stayed on in place without using the tail hole and extended Velcro bands. She never licked or chewed the surgical site once!
Our Wheaten Terrier mix has a large open wound on his hip. Hard to bandage and in an awkward place. With the suit, the bandage stays in place. If we are with him the suit alone is perfect. When we are gone or at night we crate him wearing his cone to ensure there is no picking at the wound.
I ordered the surgi snuggly so our pup could avoid the cone of shame after her spay surgery and it has done the job perfectly! She has no complaints about wearing it, and even with the bottom pulled up out of the way, it covers enough of her belly that she can't lick her stitches. It's also hilariously cute (we have dubbed it her super suit).
A good choice to use this suit instead of a cone to protect your furbaby while recovering from neutering or spade. The only thing I found with this one was, it was very hard to get Koobes legs into the openings in front. His legs were almost too long, but the rest was great. Potty time was easily accessible with the velcro and kept him clean for a successful recovery. Koobe is a 28 lb. Golden doodle I probably should have gone up one size for more ease at getting his legs in.
