Puppies: Feed up to two times the recommended adult feeding amount by body weight. As your puppy gets older, gradually decrease the amounts to near adult amounts.
When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your dog’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.
The wife and I chose this brand because of the quality of ingredients. My dog loves it. BUT, our last shipment of the two flavors were nearly ALL dented. No efforts to safely package the two cases of cans was made. Due to the severity of some of the dents my wife has safety concerns and we will not be giving a majority to our dog. Our last order was also denied, but not nearly this bad. We will not be ordering canned food from Chewy again. Also disappointed there is no other way to contact Chewy using the mobile site.
It's great to see something come out of the can that resembles leftovers. I mean... for dog food. We introduced at the beginning of a long road trip, and expect diversions from the food we've seen to be the result thereof. Low odor, chunky bits, legit gravy.. leaves our dogs licking their lips overall. Even the cat is inerested when we open the can now that we are back at home. Appreciate not needing a can opener. May try add'l flavors.
4 out of 12 cans arrived dented in their box. Not Chewy's fault; the cans had obviously been packed this way at the original warehouse. This was my first time ordering Taste of the Wild food. It will be my last.
This is one of the top 10 canned dog foods on Dog Food Advisor, so the quality is very good. I have a labradoodle (10 years old), Labrador (10 years), a mix, and a labrador puppy. They all love this food!. My doodle is on epilepsy meds and can be a picky eater, but he likes this canned food a lot. I use it as a topper sometimes as well on dry food.
Have been feeding the Taste of the Wild dry since Pal came to us. Last week, ordered some more kibble, and decided to try some of the canned. Oh! If dogs could talk to us in our own language!! He did DEVOUR the Taste of the Wild canned food.
Al the cans arrived with dents in them so the plastic lids for storing an open can did not fit.
Our Riki loves Taste of the Wild High Prairie - thought I would change her canned food, I do that every few months. She loves the hunky mean in this new food but due to her not having any teeth at all, has to swallow it. I do try to smash it up as much as I can. May have to make another change but thankfully, Chewy.com has so many quality canned foods to choose from. Since she loves Taste of the Wild High Prairie so much, may try doing a light purée for her. That just may work out for her. We love Chewy.com and buy all of our pets food/treats not to mention wildlife food from Chewy.
The ingredients sound great, but my 3 yr old and 16 wk old SharPei will not touch this food! They have good appetites, but I can't explain why they don't like this one! It just goes to waste.
Since I already feed the dry Taste of the Wild products, I knew that this brand is family owned and manufactured in the U.S. I bought the canned High Prairie to give my dogs variety and to have a longer-keeping food for emergencies. I feed it as is for my German shepherd and cut the meat cubes into smaller pieces for my Chihuahua. Both gobble this food & wag their tails as if asking for more.
I purchased this and use it as a topper for the Taste of the Wild dry food. My Belgian Malinois loves it.
