About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

  • Ginger has found her favorite dog food!

    By on

Ginger is a Chion. She is also allergy prone and very hard to find a food she likes and is good for her. Well, I think we are done searching. She loves the Taste of Wild High Prairie wet food. Thinking of switching to the dry as well but one step at a time. The humorous part of this is she wants to lick out the can so I let her. When I put the can in the garbage she will go get it out and puts it in her dog bed. She even sleeps with the empty can and looks concerned if anyone goes to touch it. I think she's waiting for a refill . I tried adding a picture of her with her favorite can but the system here wouldn't load it.

  • I finally found the best dog food.

The quality and performance of a dog food is important to me. The Bison, Taste of the Wild, is in a gravy in chunks. There is no lingering odor from the food in the room or on his breath. His energy level stays up through the daytime and he sleeps well at night. I recommend this food.

  • I like it...my dogs like it...

I like this food as far as canned foods go and I really, really want to purchase it through Chewy like most everything else but they charge the highest price compared to every other place I see. With all of my puppers and their special needs every penny counts so... bummer.

  • Picky eater?

    By on

I have been using the taste of the Wild dry for my dog for most of his life and I bought this to add a little extra to his dry meal, but he does not seem to like it. It smells good and has chunks of meat in it, but he picks over it. I don't think its the food, it could be him, so I can't recommend it as I don't really know.

I have three dogs 2 are little and then a Siberian Husky who is allergic to chicken. Taste of the Wild has 3 different types of canned food and 3 different types of dry food that have no chicken or chicken by products. All three dogs love both the canned and the dry food.

My dogs loved the bits of meat in a gravy. I bought the same hard dog food and put in the softer and gravy for more flavor and different textures. I would recommend to anyone. Especially someone who treats their dogs like their children. I have 4 four legged children and only had 3 two legged children. They should have been treated so good

  • Not Dog's Favorite

    By on

I was afraid my dog wouldn't eat this after he wouldn't lick the spoon. He was hesitant (did not eat it right away like he usually does), but will eat it. I'm glad he eats it since I have 12 cans, but I'll order something else next time. He LOVES the Wetlands flavor and Merrick's Cowboy Cookout (he will not eat Merrick's Grammy's Pot Pie-sorry Grammy).

  • Yum Yum and then some

    By on

At age 7 I finally found a canned dog food that my loyal companion enjoys with relish. She licks her bowl cleaner than if I'd washed it and she's always ready for more. I'm glad I finally found a canned food that brings her so much pleasure.

  • It's a hit!

    By on

We served the same brand of food, but dry, to our 4 month pup and she would literally go a full 24 hrs without eating. She would finally eat when she was starving. We bought the canned food and mixed about 1/4 cup with the dry and seriously- it's hilarious. She finishes before the other dog and literally licks her bowl clean. Now I need to consider a slow feeding dish, but that's a good problem to have! She's now growing strong and putting on weight. Definitely was a good purchase and it's now on auto-ship :)

  • Best Quality AND Price!

    By on

Our large pit bull LOVES the wet food, and Taste of the Wild is a great, natural, grain free food. We mix it in with the dry counterpart, and he goes wild during feeding times. This is also the BEST price around!
