I got 7 gold fish in my 55 gallon tank how often should I change the filters out??

It's recommended to change carbon filter cartridges once a month.

I got a tetra whisper EX aquarium power filter, 35-40 gal. What size cartridges do I need? Large or med. ?

The 10-20 gallon size filter would take a Medium filter, and all larger units would be compatible with the Large filters.

Works almost as well as a canister filter

I have a red eared slider turtle and those things can really stink if they don't have a proper filtering system. Well my big canister system died and I picked up

I have a red eared slider turtle and those things can really stink if they don't have a proper filtering system. Well my big canister system died and I picked up a smaller filter that hangs on the side of the tank to get me by for a few days. I knew the filters that came with it weren't going to do much so I ordered these filters. I have been amazed that they kept his tank almost as clean as the canister that's designed to handle twice as big of a tank. These will always be my go to filters.

Good, but not for my purpose

We have a red eared slider and she needed a much larger filter system. These work, but are meant for smaller, cleaner aquatic animals.
