Questions & Answers

9 Customer Questions

Can dogs hear it?

Answer by ChewyFeb 26, 2025
The device emits ultrasonic pulses that are imperceptible to people, dogs, and cats.

Will rain stop it from working?

Answer by ChewyFeb 27, 2025
The devices are water-resistant (IP31), which means they can withstand a few drops of rain but are not waterproof. Submerging the device in water, such as in a lake, sea, or mud, could cause damage. If your Tickless device has been exposed to rain but not submerged, it should still function properly. However, prolonged exposure to moisture or heavy rain might affect its performance over time.

What does the button do on the tag?

Answer by ChewyMar 31, 2025
The button on the Tickless Pet tag is used to check the device’s operation. Once activated, the tag works continuously and cannot be turned off. When you press the button, the device will flash four green lights, indicating it is functioning properly and emitting ultrasonic pulses. After the initial activation, the light will not stay on, but you can press the button anytime to verify it's still working. This simple indicator allows users to ensure the device is operational and providing ongoing protection.

Can this be used on a harness instead of a collar?

This item was a waste of money and I bought three of them. I tried the items for two weeks on my three dogs and all of them had fleas. After bathing them with flea and tick medicine, the next day, the fleas were back. A useless product!!!

I've not found any ticks or fleas since I've started using this. It is smaller than others I have used which I like. The ring to attach to the collar and the case is very sturdy. The only thing I wish it would do is blink to show it is working. You can click a button to see it blink to show it is working, but I'm always afraid that I've shut it off. Others I've used blink to show you they are working. That is the only suggestive change I would make on the design of this.

Purchased this for my dog to wear when we hike or she joins my husband mountain biking. Battery gave out after 1.5 months, or less. Description says battery life is expected up to 6 months, so disappointed with that. Still found a few ticks on her the first few times she wore it, but much less than before we purchased it.

Easy!

Haven't seen any fleas or ticks on our girl and I know they're out there. So I'm guessing it's doing the job!

Please research this product. I was looking for a non toxic way to stop fleas and ticks. My dogs behavior changed drastically after I put this on his collar. He wouldn’t listen and acted like he didn’t even hear us. This was the only thing I had done differently. I started looking on line and found where vets do not recommend this product. It also said it changes the dogs behavior. Shocker. I threw this in the trash. Do not buy this. How many dogs are misbehaving from this and their owners haven’t figured it out yet?

We have been using this now for a couple of weeks and although not 100% it does I believe it lessens the number of ticks my dog acquires. We live in the country and have been receiving much moisture and walk every day. This equates to a high population of ticks this year. My neighbors' dogs that walk with us always have many ticks on them, so I know it is working.
