Important Information
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Active Ingredients: Flumethrin 4.5%, Imidacloprid 10.0%.
Use only one collar per animal. Fit collar around your pet's neck, allowing for 2 fingers to fit between the collar and your pet's neck to ensure a comfortable, yet snug, fit. Once collar is properly fitted, cut off any excess collar measuring 1" or longer. The collar should be worn continuously for the 8 month protection period. Check periodically and adjust fit if necessary, especially when puppies are rapidly growing. Keep the collar in the bag and in the outer packaging until use. Replace the collar after 8 months for optimal tick and flea protection.
Water Resistance: It is unnecessary to remove the collar before immersing your pet in water. Seresto remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or exposure to rain or sunlight. In order to maintain an 8 month duration, pets must not be bathed more than once a month. For pets that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to five months for fleas and seven months for ticks.

I have never had a flea problem before. Where are my pets picking up fleas?
Fleas are very hardy pests that are quite capable of hitching rides on a variety of mammals. Wild animals or feral pets traveling through the environment may be a source for a pet’s exposure.Fleas may be brought to the house by: * You – attached to clothing, luggage, dog blankets, etc. * Your pet – any time your pet steps outside your house, they are potentially exposed to fleas, especially in areas where there are other animals. * Stray or homeless cats and dogs – since these animals are not being cared for, they are easy targets for fleas. A single feral cat walking through your backyard even just one time may drop many flea eggs into the grass or under shrubs. * Wildlife – particularly raccoons and opossums. These animals typically aren’t seen very often, because they are active at night. A single opossum can carry as many as 1,000 adult fleas! An opossum walking through your backyard even just one time can drop many flea eggs into the grass or under shrubs as they pass through. * Non-treated pets in the household – most dogs are treated for fleas and ticks. Often, the cats in the household are not, especially if they are indoor only cats. * Non-treated pets in the neighborhood – you may be vigilant about treating your pets for fleas, but your neighbor(s) may not.
What are the benefits of Seresto?
Inside the unique polymer matrix of Seresto are two active ingredients:
-
Imidacloprid has been used in products for years to control flea infestations.
-
Flumethrin effectively repels and kills ticks.Flumethrin works together with imidacloprid to provide dual action against fleas and ticks. No other treatment has this combination of ingredients. The active ingredients spread from the site of direct contact over the skin surface of the cat or dog.Sustained release technologySeresto works similarly to a monthly topical, but as the active ingredients wear off over time, a new supply is continuously replenished in low concentrations. The active ingredients spread from the site of direct contact over the skin surface.Bayer's polymer matrix technology is designed to slowly and continuously release the active ingredients for eight months, a duration that makes it clearly different from other flea and tick collars.
Is Seresto water resistant?
Seresto is water resistant. The active ingredients of Seresto are contained within the Bayer Polymer Matrix, making it water-resistant. Therefore it is unnecessary to remove the collar before the pet is immersed in water. Seresto remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming, or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for eight months. In order to maintain an 8-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to five months for fleas and seven months for ticks.
What if my cat or small dog gets stuck while wearing a Seresto collar?
Because some pet owners may be concerned that a cat or small dog could get stuck while wearing a collar, Seresto is designed with a safety release mechanism. In the unlikely event of the cat being trapped, the cat's own strength is sufficient to widen the collar to allow for quick release.A hard pull causes the ratchet-release mechanism to allow a widening of the collar. The small dog and cat collars are equipped with a predetermined breaking point. A harder pull triggers the breaking of the collar at this point.
What is the expiration date for Seresto for dogs?
There is no expiration date required on the packaging by the EPA for this product. The product should be kept in its original packaging and stored as directed on the label.
When can I bathe my dog after application of Seresto for dogs?
We recommend bathing BEFORE applying product. Seresto is water-resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an eight-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control. There is no need to remove the collar for bathing. Please use a non-stripping, pet shampoo.
How often can I allow my dog to swim when using Seresto for dogs?

For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control. There is no need to remove the collar for swimming.

Got Fleas? Yep!
By jabs on Mar 6, 2021
This product isn’t worth the time or the money. We bought this for our puppy. It only keeps fleas off half of his body. From mid-section to his bottom we would see fleas. Mid-section up, they wouldn’t be there. Yes, we bought the appropriate collar for his weight. Just an overall disappointment. If you can get it to work, it does have a nice design. It’s flexible and there isn’t a smell to it. The reflectors that come with it are nice too.

good collar
By seresto on Jan 30, 2021
Was surprised by the lack of smell, (no I don’t have Covid but it isn’t harsh smelling like some flea products are) bendable soft rubber, reflectors I haven’t fussed with yet but looks good; my dog will be wearing this when we leave the house as we work with other dogs and the topicals don’t settle for my dogs skin. Hoping it works but it looks legit. One problem is my dog is a small-medium. The small collar is a pound in weight to small for her but the large collar worries me to put on such a small dog . so she is 19 lbs but her neck is thick at least 13 inches. She is a shiba inu mix breed so this collar just fits in the loosest setting but I was afraid I would overdose her with the bigger Was surprised by the lack of smell, (no I don’t have Covid but it isn’t harsh smelling like some flea products are) bendable soft rubber, reflectors I haven’t fussed with yet but looks good; my dog will be wearing this when we leave the house as we work with other dogs and the topicals don’t settle for my dogs skin. (I don’t know if that’s how that works but that’s what I was thinking buying the collar) It’s comfortable and loose enough not to restrict my dogs neck, but slightly tighter than I like which is my fault for going small, I think it would break away in an emergency which is nice. It would be perfect for any dog under her weight as recommended. She’s only had it on for about an hour and it’s nestled beneath her fur so I’m monitoring her sensitive skin but so far I am happy. She seems unbothered and she is a dog That never wears a collar inside but she doesn’t seem affected by it which is good enough for me. Photo of it on her for reference, it arrived next day in a plastic package inside a sealed tin and box. … more

Great!!!!!
By PearlsMom on Jan 25, 2021
I have never had a flea issue before but since moving to the city with a dog park, I started looking for a remedy for fleas just in case. I tried different washes and sprays because I had began to see flea dust along the spine and tail of my pup. The washes and sprays were not working! I had always been skeptical of a flea collar because I had heard some of them were greasy and/or smelly. This collar is not any of that! I saw immediate results, no sign of fleas or dust. The collar is adjustable and fits comfortably, my dog doesn’t even notice it. It is completely dry and odorless. The best part... it’s good for several months! I will use the collar from now on. Nothing beats it!

Best decision ever
By Sarah on Feb 1, 2021
Our one cat got outside and brought fleas back with her, and unfortunately shared them with our 4 other animals. I tried everything, but we were getting overran with fleas. I tried sprays, other collars, bombs, flea lights and traps, but nothing worked. I was literally at my wits end. My poor little dog was getting bathed daily just to kill the fleas on her. I bought these collars for all 5 of them, and in less than 3 days, I didn’t see one flea in our house. I’ll never use anything again, these are a lifesaver!

Works great!
By Kate on Jan 29, 2021
My boys and my kitty had fleas something fierce from rabbits out in the yard and they were so bad they were on the couch and rugs. I tried different topical treatments and they weren't making a difference. I had to spray the house down and they'd always come right back. My mom had this for hers and swore it worked so I bought them, even though it got pricey for 2 dogs and cat. I couldn't be more happy flea free and not in the house anymore. I will continue to buy!

Fleas in January
By Amymacc on Feb 6, 2021
We live in Delaware and never have a flea issue in winter but recently adopted a dog from the SPCA that was transported will 100 other dogs from Tulsa, Ok. We are pretty sure that’s how we ended up with them. We used our usual go to the Soresto and are pleased as always. No fleas after 24 hours and no reaction from Tigger.

Seresto Works
By Finn on Mar 2, 2021
My pup stays flea and tick free, and I don't have to think about it for 8 months. No drops or pills every month!! And with chewy auto ship, I don't even have to worry about when to change his collar, it shows up at my door when it's time for a new one.

flea and tick collar
By Boys on Feb 17, 2021
Seresto is the best product I have found to combat fleas and ticks. Our boys run in a mowed field in the evenings and before Seresto; with other flea and tick products we were still finding ticks. This product works great. No more fleas or ticks for our boys!!!!

Undecided about product
By JimB on Mar 3, 2021
Was happy with the purchase but now undecided after reading from numerous sources about over 1700 pet deaths linked to the Seresto flea and tick collars. Very happy with Chewy as far as purchasing products but wondering why there is no warning on this product.

It really works
By Alyssa on Feb 3, 2021
I was always skeptical of flea collars, but they have been reworked & they really do work! I have heard horror stories about oral treatments & my two of my dogs have had terrible reactions to topical treatments so I finally caved & bought these collars & they work even better than the topical treatments that my dogs have been on.
