Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.
Help your dog lead the pack with long-lasting 8 month protection from Elanco. This easy-to-use, non-greasy, odorless collar kills and repels fleas and ticks for eight continuous months with daily wear, and can even help treat and control sarcoptic mange and lice. Get the performance you expect from a monthly treatment in an economical collar for convenient, effective protection.
With Seresto, fleas and ticks are killed and repelled through contact, with no biting required. The active ingredients stored within the collar release in low concentrations with daily wear and distribute over your dog's skin and coat from head to tail for effective coverage. As the active ingredients wear off over time, the collar continuously replenishes the skin and coat with a new supply, for 8 continuous months.
The veterinarian-recommended Seresto collar is non-greasy and helps avoid the inconvenience of applying monthly treatments. If fleas and ticks are repelled, they cannot bite and transmit dangerous diseases. It also helps to treat and control sarcoptic mange and kill lice. Seresto also doesn't interfere with your dog's regular collar and can easily be worn simultaneously.
Seresto brings convenience to every pet owner with lasting 8 month protection against fleas and ticks. Plus, Seresto works through contact which means fleas and ticks don't have to bite for the active ingredients to work. It's also available without a prescription, so it's just one less step to take care of.
Seresto is water-resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an eight-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control.
Seresto is manufactured by Elanco, a leading name in the healthcare industry for over 150 years. Seresto kills and repels fleas and ticks for eight continuous months in one easy-to-use, non-greasy, odorless collar. It effectively kills fleas and ticks and is veterinarian-recommended, so you can feel confident knowing that your pet is getting effective protection.
My little one had a reaction to the chewable and also a topical preventive but after a week with Seresto collar she is no longer itching from fleas(she is seriously sensitive) and so far is tolerating the collar well. My hope was that since the chemicals are released more slowly rather than all at once like the topical and do not enter internal organs as with chewables this collar would be easier on her and so far it has surpassed my expectations! While I hate to employ chemicals we have so many ticks here I even have found one in the house! Last year I had a tick born illness and it was awful so the risk in my opinion is worth the benefit. Vets have seen far more pets getting sick from ticks than they see reacting to preventives so we just have to pick our poison so to speak, considering the risk in our particular circumstance.
Tried Seresto! Worked for my 12lb Morkie used for yrs! Early use found 1 dead flea and no issues since. Auto ship was every 8mos (Seresto collar life) and came Chewy shipping on que. New Vet recommends back to oil. Will Autoship Frontline instead. BUT I'm Seresto and Chewy satisfied. Size small fit my dog with 2inches remaining and no cutting needed, just tucked back under the normal collar hold. Perfect!
Shady weighs 7 pounds and is super sensitive to fleas. If I don't stay right on it seasonally, he will literally pull his hair out and dig his skin raw. He was suffering from fleas and I tried so many different products I was about to lose hope. Then I found a great deal on Seresto Collars on Chewy and purchased one for him and one for our cat. Both pets were flea free within days of putting them on. Seresto Collars were literally a life saver in our home and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to prevent fleas and/or kill existing fleas on their pets. Thanks for the great deal Chewy!
Thank goodness for this collar! My dog needs to walk a couple of times a day, and apparently there are fleas somewhere in the neighborhood. I was fighting them for over a week when I decided to try the Seresto collar. It worked! And quickly! My Yorkie now has zero fleas and I don't have to worry about them getting in my house either. It's worth the price.
Ticks are tiny, horrible and deadly little hellions! Like most pet owners, the last thing I want to do is put any kind of chemicals on, in or near my poodles. With this in mind you have a choice - with tick protection - hope if they get bit the monthly chewable will fend off of disease OR get super and safely aggressive. Last season, we made the decision (based on frightening collar reviews) NOT to put the collars on the girls early season. (March) Until bloodwork showed they were both throwing antibodies for some nasty tick bore illnesses. We had gotten a few engorged ticks off of them early on. So we thought. One needed advanced meds and the other was negative at second round. The anxiety from bloodwork was horrible on them and the cost $$$$$ You do not want your babies getting Lyme or worse from these ticks. OR you or your family if they crawl off your dog and onto you and latch on in the middle of the night. The deer ticks here are tiny tiny! Here in SE PA, Lyme is rampant and horrible. Our last two dogs had it and they suffered. These collars help a lot. We have a farm and these girls are outside near woods and shrubs. We check them extensively when then come in - ears, too. Worth every penny. They do not smell of heavy chemicals. They do not bother my persnickety poodles.
Always received quickly. The collars are long lasting with no worries of my pet getting fleas or ticks. The price is very reasonable and easy to put on my pet. Never worried about this item not being the real deal. It is definitely a game changer when it comes to fleas and ticks.
I have tried the off brand flea and tick collar my dog. His neck was so red and irritated. I felt so bad for him. I removed the collar gave him a good bath, waited for the redness to go away. Then put on the Seresto collar. No issues!! I will always use Seresto flea and tick collars!
Received 02/28/2023 and my cowboy corgis has been wearing since (today’s date 04/20/23) we have purchased these in the past usually once a year and I’ve never had a complaint but this one doesn’t seem to be effective at all. Not sure if chewy is selling outdated merchandise or possibly counterfeit.
i have bought this same collar from my local vet clinic and it worked perfectly, my dog never had a reaction to it. however, i ordered this collar for my 2 year old dog on a Friday, it arrived that next day (Saturday). I put it on her as soon as it arrived and by Monday night she quit eating, had diarrhea, vomiting, lethargic, had no energy, didn’t want to play/run, and just moped and laid around which is completely unlike her. she is normally a ball of energy and can hardly get her to lay down. I took the collar off of her and took her to the vet the next morning as soon as they opened. all of this was caused by the collar. definitely watch you fur babies when putting this collar on them. if they begin showing any signs, please take it off and see if the symptoms subside.
We live in a heavily wooded area on the edge of a state forest. Due to the amount of deer in the area ticks are a real problem for our dogs. After trying other methods and still having issues with ticks we went back to the Seresto collars at the advice of our vet. These are the only method that work for dogs.
