What is lufenuron
Answer by ChewyApr 24, 2018
Lufenuron is the active ingredient in the veterinary flea control medication. It inhibits the development of insects, so it will kill immature stages of the flea.

I recently treated my dogs and cats with a topical flea treatment. Is this still safe to use
Answer by ChewyNov 14, 2017
This product is safe to use in combination with your monthly topical flea and tick medication.

What is the active ingredient and how much
Answer by ChewyAug 26, 2017
There are 11.4 milligrams of nitenpyram in each tablet.

This says that the 60 count one is for dogs and cats? But there's a different one just for cats. So can this one actually be given to cats as well?
Answer by ChewyAug 12, 2019
Capstar is now available in three packages: Capstar for Large Dogs, Capstar for Small Dogs and Capstar for Cats. You may administer Capstar for Small Dogs (11.4 mg) or Capstar for Cats (11.4 mg) to dogs, puppies, cats and kittens 4 weeks of age or older and between 2 and 25 pounds of body weight. Capstar tablets should be administered according to the dosing schedule on the label. Weigh your pet prior to administration to ensure proper dosing. Do not give Capstar for Large Dogs (57.0 mg) to cats, or dogs with less than 25 pounds of body weight.

It may take a while

Both dogs were treated almost two weeks ago, but there has been no improvement whatsoever. They are also bathed with the veterinary shampoo that kills all visible flees on contact, and had ForstAct Plus applied, and still no progress. Oddly enough, there are no flees in the home and the flees strictly stay on the dogs, and they are strictly indoor dogs. That being said, expect no quick fixes, because as we understand, it may take some time and repeated applications of all three medications (pill, shampoo, and topical application). Not giving up hope the products will work.

first time user

this is the first time we have used Capstar, was a little unsure of it at first. My mother in law's dog is VERY small, so the weight range fit her perfectly. They seem to be doing a wonderful job, since i gave it to her 3 weeks ago i cannot find any fleas!!!

Works great

I wish I had discovered this sooner! Nothing was working to get rid of the flea issue my 3 pups had, and this completely did the trick.

Did the trick

After the topical we'd been using for years failed and caused a seizure, we tried organic and natural treatments which were making headway, but just not fast enough. My vet's office recommended these and a new oral flea medication. In just a few hours, there were no live fleas anywhere. I think I combed one live one out of her fur the next day, but the fleas are gone and no recurrence! Gladly recommend this product!

Just be careful

watch your dogs in the first few days. Mine slept a lot more than normal for three or four days. I still don't know what that was about.

It works fast!

After using every flea drops on the market, I finally tried this. And it killed the fleas. FAST. I have a small dog less then 10 pounds. He is white , so the fleas were easy to see. After 1 pill , fleas started moving slow. I also use a flea comb . By the next night, no fleas. I
