I have a 9 yr old short hair cat. She has had hairballs all her life. Every 2-3 weeks she would have a hair ball fiasco! Night one would be foam, two would be a few hair balls and night three would be a little fur. Spending multiple days watching where I step is no fun. Tried laxatone and she gets Weruva/tiki cat wet twice a day but once we switched to this dry food in September 2025, she has had only one hairball in 4 months. We are both much happier! Hope it continues!

I switched to this dry food after my cats had been on a different brand for years and it actually did help with one of my cats who notoriously throws up after eating dry food, I was thrilled! Sadly, after the second bag of this, they all just stopped eating it... I thought maybe it was other factors in the house causing them stress or something, but my fatty girl who has no issues eating, stopped eating it right at the same time. It was super strange and so sadly I had to switch foods again. Wonder if I got a bad bag? Not sure, but can't take that chance again with 3 cats not eating.

I actually bought this for Mylo but it ended up being for all 3 of my babies. Because of Zoee being allergic to chicken we had always gotten everything salmon but it always still had some chicken in it. Tiki cat has been the only thing that Zoee has been able to est. I bought this chicken flavor because my male kitty Mylo wasn't gaining weight. Well it ended up all 3 of course got into the all chicken food and Zoee has yet to get sick and Mylo is putting on weight. I dont like that this is quite a bit more expensive than the salmon which is odd. However, anything to make sure my babies are happy and healthy. And that they also have a good variety. I feed them the salmon, the chicken, and the ocean whitefish and trout. Sometimes individually, sometimes mixed. They get their dried food daily as a free food and I also give them tiki canned food 1x a day in the summer if its super hot up to 2xs a day and tiki creamy treats as well as hard treats and some vitamins :) Thanks to Chewy ive got pretty healthy kitties if we could just figure out how to get things to us properly.

I've always known Tiki Cat to be a high quality brand of cat food. I tried their Born Carnivore hairball formula of dry food for our three longhaired cats. My oldest cat, Ollie, has frequent issues with hairballs and my other two boys occasionally have these issues. Our vet found no heath problems and recommended we feed a hairball formula food to reduce hairballs. We've tried other brands with some success - we've seen a reduction in Ollie's hairballs, but he still would have them once or twice a week. After the first week eating Born Carnivore we haven't seen any hairballs yet. Best of all, our boys love the food! This recipe is grain free, high in protein, and includes natural vegetable fiber to help reduce hairballs. We feed it with wet food so our boys get the hydration they need. I think we've found a new favorite dry food!

The Tiki Cat Hairball Chicken Recipe is wonderful! I wanted something to help our cats since they had hairballs often and aren’t always easy to brush. The prebiotics and fiber has helped lessen those uky lumps you find on the floor at times. I first wanted to make sure that they weren’t going to reject it so I gave them some on their mat. They ate it up voraciously! Yeah! It’s big enough to use as treats also so it’s a win win.

We have 3 cats with different health issues and dietary needs and taste in food. One of our cats was born with a digestive issue that took us over a year to get sorted out with multiple vet visits and trial and error. What ended up working for her was a high fiber prescription food GI formula kibble, so despite us being less than happy with the cost and the ingredients, she had been on it for 9 years, as literally everything else we tried to feed her that was of a higher quality ingredient list made her digestive issues start up again. I work at a small, higher end pet store and can easily get virtually any food of my choosing. I tried everything I could think of to get our girl onto a better quality food, including adding fiber sources to her food when called for, but still without success. About a month ago, our store brought in this particular Tiki Cat variety, so I figured I'd give it a try. It worked! For the first time in nine years, my cat was able to successfully get off her Rx food and has experienced no relapse! Not only that, but one of our other cats that has had horrible hairball issues her entire ten years of life is no longer having so many. Initially with this food, she seemed to have more hairballs than usual for about two weeks after the full transition. But since then she hasn't had any at all. Though that wasn't the reason for switching to this food initially, it's a great benefit if it continues to do what it's advertised as doing, helping with her hairballs. Our third cat is diabetic and is on a wet food diet, but if he's able to sneak any stray kibbles of this he will do it in a heartbeat. All three cats like it, the two girls seem to be getting lots of benefits from it, and compared to the Rx food they were on, their fur and skin are much better on the Tiki Cat, and their weight is stable. I'm thrilled with this formula for them and that it finally freed them from the need for GI prescription food.
