Well, I had high hopes for this new food that I decided to try for my 14.5 and 10 year old furry friends, but they're both not crazy about it. However, they will eat some of it, but I can't serve it too often or give it to them all at once because they seem to tire of it easily. I have mixed it with other brands of more commercialized cat food that I get in the grocery store. The consistency is GREAT for senior cats whom have limited teeth due to old age dental extractions. :( It also bothers me greatly that the can is so much smaller than the traditional small can 3 ounces, down to only 2.4 ounces, yet you're being charged the same price. That is NOT nice to do to us pet-stewards !

I tried this because he likes the "Silver" treats

They weren’t excited, but ate it.

I didn’t realize it was for senior cats. But good sports that they are, they ate it. Not joyously. But then, some you win, some you don’t!

I tried this canned food for my 18 1/2 year old cat whose been getting fussy lately. She liked the Tiki Cat Silver Chicken, Duck & Duck Liver Recipe quite a bit. It is finely shredded and easy for her to eat, lap up. She doesn’t have many teeth yet. The gravy really grabbed her attention. I did find adding a bit of water to it to make it even a bit softer for her really helped her get all of it and not leave anything behind. This is a new addition to her food rotation.

I’ve got two cats, and if you know anything about picky eaters, you know what a challenge mealtime can be. One of mine turns her nose up at almost everything – so no surprise, she wasn’t too interested in this wet food either (but honestly, that’s par for the course with her). Now, my other cat? She devoured it like it was the best thing she’d ever tasted. The texture looks hearty, has a good portion of the all important gravy, and the ingredients seem top-notch. Even though it's not a hit with both of my feline food critics, I’m still giving it 4 stars because the quality is clearly there – and seeing one of them so excited for dinner is a win in my book. If you’ve got a picky eater, it’s still worth a try!

Very finicky senior kitty tried the Tilapia and Tuna flavor today and lapped it up. The texture was fine and the food was very moist, but not watery, so she did not need to chew it, which allowed her to eat more. The portion size was just right for two feedings for her without waste, to help supplement her RX dry food intake. It is difficult to get her to eat anything at all, and she needs food appropriate for kidneys due to her advanced age. The other kitties also enjoyed it.

We have a 14yo foster cat. She's healthy now, but I truly worry about her nutrition and care. I'd tried to get her interested in another TIKI cat flavor food, but she's a cat and wouldn't touch that flavor. When I opened the first can of this Silver Pate, our 3yo cats came running! So I gave them a taste, and took most of the can to the elderly kitty. All three of them dove straight in; clean plate rangers, which is unusual for all of them. And it wasn't a one off. The cans are nearly finished, and foster kitty still lights up when I feed her this. I feel good: a nutritious food she eats and enjoys!

Unfortunately, none of my 3 cats liked it and wouldnt eat it. I then tried mixing a bit of it in with their kibble but they still turned up their noses at it. I then gave it to my brother in law to try for his senior cat, as she loves wet food of this consistency. She too, refused to touch it.

May depend on your cat's texture preferences

I liked that the pate was white in color - consistent with what you might expect from a chicken product. The texture was looser than a normal pate' and I found that my cat was not fond of the consistency overall. Initially she was willing to eat it, but after just a couple days, she was no longer interested and would not eat it at all - preferring to go hungry rather than consume it. This may simply have been because her normal diet is the more solid pate', and once I resumed her former diet she would eat again.
