How wide is the lip of the ramp that sits on the higher surface? Is the portion that sits on the higher surface (couch, car, etc.) non-slip to keep the ramps from slipping?

Answer by ChewyMay 17, 2024
The dimensions for the top ledge/lip of the ramp are 12.5 x 5 inches. This top ledge does not have the same non-slip coating that is on the rest of the ramp. However, it does have non-slip rubber feet to keep the ramp in place.

Can this be use on an outside back porch?

Answer by ChewyOct 30, 2022
This ramp is ideal for small, elderly, or injured pets to help them get into the car, onto the sofa, and anywhere else they need to go.

I would like to use this ramp on my Honda CRV. What is the suggested maximum height for this ramp?

While there is no suggested maximum height, these stairs are designed to rest on a surfaces such as a car floor, sofa, bed. The height would be based on the particular angle from where it is being placed.

We got two for our older cat so he wouldn’t jump. But our younger cat is using them. We love that they stay in place and that they aren’t carpeted so they don’t turn into cat trees. The rough surface provides enough traction. I put a small bath mat under one on a fancy couch where the cats sit on their little beds. The other goes up to a table where they have other beds. These are very helpful. So glad we got two.

Good ramp!

This thing is awesome, but I only gave it four stars because if you use it outside, it collects rain water at the bottom of the slope. I drilled five holes across the bottom, where the water collected, and it solved the issue. I would make a suggestion to the manufacturer to pre-drill the holes to allow for drainage.

I already had one so I knew this one would work - it fits in my small rooms and makes it possible for Charlie to get on the bed and the sofa. It was on sale and was delivered very quickly, but the best part, as is always true with Chewy, was the service. I had a question about shipping charges which was resolved quickly and courteously and to my absolute satisfaction.

I got this for my 9 year old arthritic sheltie who can't jump up on the couch to sit with me anymore. Unfortunately, the ramp is steep (more than I thought it would be) and it doesn't have enough "grip" to it for him to get a footing, so he slides down. This ramp may be good for dogs without disabilities, but then why would they need one in the first place?

Short dog ramp for passenger side car door

Was well made, light weight and was the right length for an 7" " step into a passenger side car door but access for a large dog was impacted by the handles/pockets

Was well made, light weight and was the right length for an 7" " step into a passenger side car door but access for a large dog was impacted by the handles/pockets on the door even with second row seats removed. Would probably work on minivan with sliding side door. Would also be suitable for a 1 or maybe 2 step porch for a larger dog with limited mobility.

Too Slippery

Have to find a way to glue carpeting onto this ramp, the surface is too slippery for our older dog to use it safely.

Chihuahua

Ramp is built very sturdy. Has weird very picky sandpaperish surface she won't walk on. Ramp itself I believe is also to steep for her short legs.

I need a ramp so my dog could go up the steps into our RV. This is perfect.
