Sturdy and works over steps
Perfect to go over porch steps. I did put rubber mats over the ramp, so my mini-Dachshund had a better grip. The ramp does not fit over my 3 steps, I lowered it to just two steps. This works and she can handle the third step on her own. Doggie treats helped encourage her to get up and down the first few times. Now she is up and down with no help. I bought this because she would run (fly) up and down the steps and this is not good for her back issues. On the third step, going up. she would sometimes hit her hind legs. I started to carry her up and down, but she doesn't like to be carried. She stills runs up and down the ramp but she not hitting her hind legs, which is a good thing.
Don’t buy this product
Whatever was used as the base for the ramp gives it absolutely no traction at all. It’s more of a slide down which scares my poor fur baby and she has to try to scratch & claw her way up it which is not helping her injury at all!
Well Used Ramp
I purchased this ramp to help one of my Papillons get into the car. In order to get him used to using it, I set it up next to the living room sofa. It is a hit! Now both dogs compete with each other in who will get to the top first. The non-slip surface is great. It's light weight and easy to move to and from the garage.
Not what I was hoping for
My dog is elderly and I have a really high bed. He no longer was using the stairs to get on and off the bed so I wanted to try a ramp. This one is too inclined and he slips on it. he’s literally climbing up it. no good poor guy still struggling.
Donating in our dog's name to our local animal shelter
We ordered this for our Brandi who is 75lbs and she is having trouble with one of her hind legs, just turned 10. This does not work for my husbands Kia Soul 22, the back door is not wide enough and she can't jump to well. He also did not like the steepness of it and the bottom not long enough.. So we have ordered a wooden step one here as they have over 162 reviews. On it's way, we got the white w/grey steps. Everyone here is so helpful.
The ramp fits right in the back floorboard of my car. It is easily placed for walking and easily slides right back onto the floor of the car. The rounded side is facing my dog, so no sharp edges are facing the dog. It is well-made of tough plastic and easy to handle. The non-skid surface provides great traction for the dog's feet, and is not abrasive. The price at Chewy.com is $30.00 less than the next-best price I found, for the same Trixie Ramp!
Can you teach old dogs new tricks??
Wonderful ramp only my Charlie Dog refuses to use it no matter what I do to entice him to walk the ramp. Since it is non-refundable I am stuck with it. Perhaps someday, I'll have a pet who appreciates it. Any suggestions on training old Charlie to go up and down. He's a lousy eater to can't really tempt him with treats other than Chewy's Charlie Bear Treats. Thank you.
Ramp for Dogs
This is a great item to have if your dog has arthritis.
Took about 2 days for my teacup puppy to figure it out. Had to take my box spring off to make the bed low enough so the ramp wasn't so steep. The quality and sturdiness is great.
harley needs help
The ramp is helping her get into and out of cars. She is 9 and doesn't want to jump any longer.
