Too slippery

The ramp itself is Made well but falls short on the ramp access part as far as having good grip for paws. My dogs kept slipping going up ramp and not too happy using it. Have to hold them near collar and guide them up or down as they slip. Will require me putting something on the ramp for better grip. What is on there is useless. After first use the ramp showed scratches from dogs paws. Manufacturer should have worked more on the quality of the ramp to reduce slippage. Glad I do not have to use this too often for tailgate entry.

NOT QUITE WHAT I HAD HOPED FOR

I purchased this ramp to help one of our Golden Retrievers into the back of the SUV. The Golden who has no joint issues went up it fairly easily, but the one who we really needed it for, is really having a hard time with it. The dog trainer/groomer helped me,and said that she thinks that the reluctant one would do better with one that is wider. This is the first ramp I've ever purchased, and I honestly didn't consider the width. Anyway, I'm going to try a few more times, and if she's still too scared, i will need to purchase another one. That said, it's really light and easy to move in and out of the car- and looks like it will be durable. I think it would work really well with smaller dogs. (The Golden girls are 65-70#

REVIEW OF DOG CAR RAMP

GOOD SIZE. COULD USE "ADDITIONAL MATERIAL" FOR SLIPPAGE. MY DOG CAN GET UP THE RAMP BUT STILL SLIPS... LOOKS LIKE NEED MORE OF AN "INDOOR/OUTDOOR" RUG MATERIAL...

Truck Ramp

Needed to find a ramp for my 4WD large truck. This works perfectly for my 70lb hunting dog to get onto the passenger front seat. My back is much happier.

Slippery and doesn't stay put

The grip tape on the ramp doesn't help my 45 pound, medium sized dog. Also there isn't a way to keep the ramp sturdy on back of my Forester. When my dog was midway up the ramp it just fell out of the trunk.

Does the job

It’s an excellent ramp to use if your dog likes the back of an SUV. However my dog is a back seat passenger. I have a Subaru Forester and the ramp sits on a bit of a tilt but still does the job of helping my dog go up and down safely. The ramp is not slippery since it has something like sandpaper on it as a coating. It took my dog a few practices and she was hesitant but once she got the treats and got used to it she was fine. If the coating wears out I’ll just replace it with outdoor carpeting. I’m happy with my purchase.

Ok for small dogs

Quilty is good though functionality is pretty poor. Not suitable for my 50lb aussie shepherd with hip issues - its about 6" too narrow to use it safely. I'm essentially doing more work to "help" him up rather than simply lifting him. I can see why this might be a good device for a beagle or other short stout dog beed.

Useful for older dogs

Seems to work as stated to get a dog into the back of the car. My dog was a little afraid at first try so we will have to work with him awhile. He is elderly so I’m not sure he will ever get used to it. Also, it seems to be a bit slipppery.

Easy to get used to

It did not take Marty long to get used to the ramp instead of jumping into the car. In fact, after a week, he prefers it.

Neutral feelings.

My dog had a hard first time going up the ramp because her claws slipped down the ramp. I fixed that by glueing on a rug surface. Now she has no problem. It is the right size to travel with because of the size when folded.
