Can this be used before a bath to brush out a coat?

Best results are achieved while using this product on a clean coat. Bathe pet using your choice of TropiClean shampoos. Rinse thoroughly. Apply Tangle Remover liberally and massage into saturated coat. Dry the coat completely. Brush or comb out tangles. For stubborn tangles, liberally apply Tangle Remover to the problem area and brush out. Dry coat completely or allow to air dry. Can be used without bathing pet.

Sorry but this doesn’t work as described

I ordered the 16 oz bottle and used it as directed on a few of the mats on her legs she got from wearing one of her shirts along with using the pet wet brush & comb

I ordered the 16 oz bottle and used it as directed on a few of the mats on her legs she got from wearing one of her shirts along with using the pet wet brush & comb that ii ordered but even using it twice and in abundance no luck getting them out. Disappointed but I’ll keep working her.

Long-haired double-coated comb-hating dog that runs around the fields and collects burs, awns, seeds, straw, sticks, leaves, and assorted weeds, resulting in massive mats, felts, and tangles. I don't know how the spray works, but it does help to treat the felts with the detangling spray, work it in a bit, brush it a bit, then comb the mat through by dividing it and working from the hair tip to the skin, and eventually the felt is gone. Without the spray it takes longer and is rougher on the dog. It's not cheap, but a little goes a long way. Smells nice.

I bought this for my Toy Australian Shephard puppy who gets matted clumps of hair at the back of her legs and under her ears. I spray this on the hair (spraying it on my hands and rubbing it in under her ears) and rub it in good. After letting it set for a few minutes I use a dematting rake and get all those mats right out of her hair with hardly any effort. It works wonderfully! And the smell is nice too! I have a sensitive nose sometimes, and this doesn't bother me at all. I will definitely keep buying this!
