Ubbi Litter Scoop Dog & Cat Waste Pail

I do NOT put a bag liner in this. I got it specifically as a secure place to keep the smaller bags I put used kitty litter in so that my dog doesn't get into them. The locked lid is simple to use and great. If I leave multiple bags in there before taking them to the outside garbage, the smell is rather pungent when I open the can. Having just one smaller bag in there at a time isn't such an issue. The locked lid is smaller, and the outer rim of the lid opens without the inner piece moving. That inner piece is what you would put the bag on if you wanted to properly line this with a bag. It can be swung up out of the way to rest upright with the lid.

I am currently caring for three cats; two kittens and one super senior, which include tending to issues with gi upset and kidney disease. Keeping their four boxes clean means frequent scooping of four litter boxes. This pail really helps by minimizing the number of trips I need to take to the outside trash with the frequency of scooping. It works well to odor locked away. To ensure this, in addition to lining the pail I bag the litter scooped. I use the ubbi bags suggested because they are nice and sturdy but any kitchen bag will work. The pail locks so curious pets can’t get into it or spill it. It comes within a really great scoop, that I have hooked on the side using a magnetic hook. I take the bag out once a week and wash out the pail with an enzymatic cleaner. Given that it’s mostly painted stainless steel, it doesn’t seem to hold on to odor, but for the sake of the plastic and rubber components, this still seems like a good practice. This is my first go with a multi cat household and even though this was a bit pricy, I have no regrets.

This is a great little pale and it really does contain the smell so well I keep it on my balcony and it is insulated it easily. It has been wonderful.
