So, this thing is made out of plastic. I bought it for my guinea pigs very early on, not realizing that neither guinea pigs or chinchillas should have plastic. If I had known I wouldn't have purchased it. The other issue with this item is that the photo is very misleading and the LARGE is like VERY LARGE. Another issue is that poop and pee will get stuck in the folds in this. I don't recommend it at all unless it's covered w/ fleece or something.
Can't recommend this for rats even as a play tunnel.

The plastic is not thick enough for the size of this so it gets warped out of shape when you extend it and is very difficult to get collapsed again, seems to be already stressed to the point of getting ready to crack after only a couple of times opening and closing it. On top of that, as others with guinea pigs had said, it becomes absolutely filthy. I did not think I would have an issue with rats as they like to be clean but they peed and pooped in this a LOT - it was disgusting and is difficult to clean.
The smaller size is a bit sturdier and since it is used as an upright climbing tube, doesn't get so nasty, but stay away from this big one.
Not ideal for guinea pigs

I got this for my guinea pigs as a free roam hide and it's okay. It's loud when pulling and shaping it and holds its shape well; however, my guineas prefer to chew on it than actually use it as a hide/tunnel. I don't want them eating plastic so I'm only able to use it for a few minutes before they start chewing. I feel it's better suited for ferrets.
AWFUL Not what we thought

We bought this to connect to the ball pit for our ferrets. It is very stiff and will not reach the other side of the pit. I suppose it would be okay for other uses though.
Lots of fun

Our girls can get in there together and love running in and out. It’s a great addition to their little playpen.
It is okay I guess...

It was very nice for the time being but my hamster chewed holes all over it and I only had it for 3 days. If your hamster is a chewer I do not recommend this.
Great for floor time not for cages.

This is a great toy for floor time, but beware it is not suitable for inside cage. The retractable plastic tube will hold urine and poop in its crevices which can cause your cavy to get sick. I only use this outside the cage and immediately clean it after.

Great purchase for a bunny. Loves to run through it and jump over it. He loves his tunnel. Very happy with it.
Piggies love it!

I bought this accidentally with a feed purchase but I'm glad I did. The fabric covered tunnels are a lot harder to clean and don't bend. Would love to find one that's a bit shorter and has a smaller circumference as this is big enough for a small rabbit.
Amazing play time!

My ferret absolutely loves this. I use it for outside the cage play. It's a simple thing, but gives him so much fun.
