Where is wellness core made? Are the ingredients from the USA?
Answer by ChewyJun 03, 2019
Wellness CORE foods are made in the USA. They primarily source all of their ingredients from North America, but some ingredients are taken from New Zealand, Australia, Italy and Chile. Less than 1% of all ingredients in Wellness foods come from China.

I believe there is a mistake on the nutritional section, calorie content. It says, "247 Kcal/can" on BOTH the sizes of cans for each variety. What are the correct calories for large size cans?
Answer by ChewyDec 19, 2018
The Calorie Content for the 12.5-ounce can is 1,300 kcal/kg or 460 kcal. The Calorie Content for the 6-ounce can is 1,335 kcal/kg or 227 kcal.

Are there ground up chicken bones in the can. If not what are the tiny hard white pieces?
Answer by ChewyFeb 25, 2021
Because Wellness CORE uses fresh meat, there is a low risk of finding bones in their canned dog and cat food. Wellness has several steps in the process to minimize the size and amount of bones, including de-boning, grinding and screening, but some small fragments may still get through as part of the production process. In most cases the bones are soft and break easily since they are moist. You need not have any concern as they are edible and provide needed micro-nutrients for your pet.

Is the product 95% chicken by weight? The description doesn't actually say that. Also, is the approximate carb content available?
Answer by ChewyJun 28, 2022
While the exact percentage of animal protein is proprietary to the manufacturer, Wellness Grain-Free recipes have approximately 90% or more protein from animal origin. This variety contains approximately 0.98% Carbohydrate content on an as fed basis (3.92% on a dry matter basis).

She finally actually eats

Our dog is so very picky with food. She was way too thin. She would not eat hardly anything and then late at night would finally go to her bowl and eat. Of course that would mean us getting up to then let her out to go potty in the middle of the night. I have tried a ton of different foods. She seemed to like freeze dried food but that was a chore to mix and wait and then feed....I finally found this one after reading all the good reviews, I decided to try it. OMG! Game changer!!! The second I put it down she scarfs it up!!!! She is actually eating, and gaining weight. She always eats the whole thing, no matter when I feed her and she now eats twice a day. I think she seems more satisfied. I'm a very happy fur momma.

Used to be high quality

This was my go to brand for my three pups until we started opening newer cans only to find large pieces of what look like to be mold. Also was most likely the cause of diarrhea on our dogs recently. Not sure what is going on with the quality but we will need to switch now

Very good until these dark pieces found

This is my 4th order of wet dog food. Chicken and Broccoli. Seems like each time I get a new batch (24cans) the dogs bellies hurt. This time I found these dark gooey pieces inside and the dogs have had diarrhea. Typically looks like decent food but we’re switching

My dogs love this core 95.

My dogs love this can food. I purchased a case and every can is dented really bad. Chewy needs to have a talk with wellness brand about packaging in the warehouse. Should i worry that maybe the can food might not be good, I don't know.

Finally Found Our Go-To Dog Food!

We were searching for another Wellness wet food to give our lab as we phased her off Wellness puppy. After trying Wellness stew mixes and all other canned food within the brand, our dog finally devoured Core 95 Chicken & Broccoli and Turkey & Spinach! Great ingredients that keeps our pup happy, healthy and full of energy!

Very good!

My frenchie and chi both love this new Core food. It definitely has more moisture than the regular can of pate that is not the Core 95% grain free. They love it and I love it because I know it's so healthy for them.

Great food for weight gain

My 2 year old cocker spaniel/poodle has always been a picky eater & has been underweight because of this. I was a bit reluctant to buy this but I read good reviews online so I went for it. This has 95% protein in it. My dog loves this food! And she has put on more weight! Highly recommend if you’re doing is underweight.
