My small dogs do not like this dry food. I was excited for them to try it because my 2lb Chihuahua has a sensitive stomach and I thought this would help.
My girl has a very sensitive tummy and this food helped tremendously!
Over the last few years, we’ve tried almost all Wellness formulas for small breeds—Original Core, Reduced Fat Core, Complete Health, Toy Breed, AND Digestive. Pros: Dogs found all recipes tasty. Tiny kibble size for small mouths. Super healthy ingredients. Reputable company. CONS: SO MUCH POOP! Regardless of the formula, both my Yorkies always have much larger stools and more frequent #2’s on Wellness products. Instead of going twice a day on other high-quality foods, on Wellness they go three times. Also, their stools on Wellness are decent, but always a tad bit “squishier” and smellier—even on this "Digestive" formula. But all dogs are different—maybe this food will be perfect for yours!
Much easier for small dog to digest keeping to a good rithum for his system
Both my dogs like this food and it seems to have helped with their digestion and we've had less incidents of diarrhea since switching to this version of Wellness food.
I have been feeding my dog wellness for at least the past four years and since adding a second pup to the family they both started to have diarrhea. Found the whole grain variety of the core they were eating and was suggested that. It worked well for a while but then when I started to run out no pet stores in my area had it!! So I looked around at the selections here on chewy and I found This one. It has been working perfectly for the babies and they have had consistently solid food since being on this food. :3
This food helped my dog Daisy after she had diarrhea with blood. Her stool test didn’t pinpoint a reason. So I switched her to this; I add pumpkin purée along with a spoon of the wet food version. Her poo looked closer to normal after a week. Her poo is still a little larger than it used to be; But she feels all better now. Her coat is softer and silky too now. It’s been over a month and I am keeping her on this food because she is doing very well on it. Even though it is pricier than her old food. My other dog is 14, has always had a sensitive tummy, and now has only 4 teeth; she eats the wet food version.
This food is great for digestion problems. My dog had diarrhea, which the Vet couldn't stop, but this food did!
I put my Chihuahuas on this, both who have always suffered from wet tear stains. To my surprise both of their eyes cleared up! I was ecstatic, but very dissapointed in the amount of crumbs in the food. I was hoping that my 2nd bag would have less & it didn't & the 3rd bag was the same :( I finally switched them back to another food but the tear stains have returned. So going to go back to the crummy food but add in some wet food to try & help minimize the crumbs they eat.
I bought my first bag of this specific bag at the pet store and the kibble pieces were bigger than the ones i bought from Chewy. Personally my dog doesn’t really like this one that much but yet she liked the one from the pet store? Not sure if it’s the difference in kibble or taste? I’ll continue buying this one but from the pet store. I know it’s labeled small breed, but something isn’t adding up.
