Combination Feeding: If feeding with Wellness wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/3 cup for every 6 oz of wet food.

For pregnant or nursing dogs: Since DHA is transferred to puppies in mother’s milk, we recommend feeding this during pregnancy and nursing. When pregnant, feed up to 50% more food according to body weight at 12 mos. For nursing dogs, allow her to eat at will.

Transition Instructions

The best way to transition your pet onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet (starting by mixing 90% old with 10% new and increase new by 10% each day until the bowl is full of only Wellness). Mixing the food will allow your pet to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it. Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin.

    Great food too rich

    By on

I think this is a great food, with superior ingredients. Unfortunately, it's too rich for my young Labrador puppy, causing loose stools. I will try it again when he gets a few months older.

    Finallly Solid Poop!

    By on

Since we got our lab at 8 weeks old, we've struggled with finding a food that works for him! We tried iams, blue buffalo, hills science diet and he was on a prescription food for awhile. Eventually, someone suggested we try this. Our pup LOVED the wellness core jerky treats & we were desperate to find a food that would help out little guy feel better. So we gave this a try. Now, at almost 7 months old we finally found this food and he is better! He eats his food, doesn't have digestive issues with it and his poops are finally solid! Not to mention a super soft shiny coat and tons of energy! Couldn't be happier

My 8 week old guy loves this stuff. I love that his poo is formed and healthy looking which tells me it’s better on his stomach than what the breeder was giving him.

My German Shepherd puppy was having problems with digestion and excess gas. I researched products and found Wellness Core Grain-Free to be one of the most highly recommended dry puppy foods on the market. I like that it is specifically for large breed puppies too. This product has eliminated all of my puppy's digestive problems. I am very pleased and will be reordering Wellness Core Grain-Free puppy food!
