Dogs over 100 lbs: Add 1/4 cup per additional 10 lbs.
Combination Feeding: If feeding with Wellness wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/4 cup for every 6 oz of wet food.
For pregnant or nursing dogs: Since DHA is transferred to puppies in mother’s milk, we recommend feeding this during pregnancy and nursing. When pregnant, feed up to 50% more food according to body weight for 12 mos. For nursing dogs, allow her to eat at will.
Every puppy is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size, activity level, breed and environment. Please use feeding guidelines as an initial recommendation and adjust as needed.
It is important to slowly transition your puppy from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5 - 7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.

Tank loves it
By RLH1 on Feb 18, 2021
I have a 10 week old yellow lab, Tank. When I got Tank at 7 weeks old his owner had been feeding Tank and his litter mates a Big Box brand food. I took a couple of days to switch Tank over to Wellness large breed placing him on straight Wellness within a week. Tank loves it! He has tripled his weight, his coat is thick and he has a abundance of energy (sometimes to much) haha. I will be keeping Tank on Wellness Large Breed puppy food until it's time to graduate him to full adult food.

My Non-Picky Puppy Doesn't Like It
By Wellness on Mar 2, 2021
I wanted so bad to like the food as the ingredients and overall ratings are great! Unfortunately, the first day I gave the food to my 10-month-old puppy he was not a fan (even though it was mixed with his old food). He's normally not picky so it was quite odd. After a week of force-feeding him, it's time to change the food.

EXCELLENT FOOD FOR PUPPIES!
By Lani on Feb 10, 2021
We have been using Wellness large breed puppy for 15 months now. We have 2 GSD puppies ( now 15 months and one is 8 months) They have the most beautiful coat . They LOVE this food. Its a little pricey but well worth it. If you have a lg breed puppy I highly recommend this.

GSD enjoys!
By evmolina on Jan 8, 2021
This food is great for my 6mo. old GS pup. He eats this up, every last bite. unfortunately my pups tummy is very sensitive and this did not sit well with him. He is on his 3rd change, his vet might have to prescribe him something. Food has everything he needs, good grains etc but i seem to have an extra sensitive pup LOL its okay it happens. I also what to state chewy.com return policy is amazing. No hassle and no ridiculous questions. I was refunded my money for the brand new bag I received, and told to donate the bag to my local animal shelter. WOW. i was not expecting that. I will continue my autoship with Chewy.com once our vet decides what food will be best for my pup.

Wellness Complete Large Breed Puppy
By Chacha on Mar 2, 2021
My dog turned his nose up. 8 month old Sheppard-Pyraneese mix. When I finally got him to eat it he kept nibbling his paws and now won’t touch it again. I’m stuck with a huge expensive bag of food. I wanted him to like it because of the reviews.

German Shepherd Approved!
By Jennifer on Dec 27, 2020
My almost year old GSD loves this food! I transitioned him to this at 9 weeks. He was on another grain free puppy food but was not large breed. This food for high marks and I wanted to have a food that contained grains and was formulated for large breeds. My dog had no issues transitioning and loves his food. Like a lot of GSDs he does have a sensitive tummy and most treats don’t agree with him so we use this as a training treat as well and he still loves it. I’m thankful chewy has this food as I can’t find this food in any pet store locally.

Do not recommend
By Cait on Feb 18, 2021
My puppy is very food motivated but spits these kibbles out. She will not eat them dry or mixed with food she does like. Sometimes she will eat them when mixed with water or yogurt. We are going to switch to Taste of the Wild instead.

Cane Corso
By TerrierMom on Feb 11, 2021 Top 1000 Contributor
I have really liked this food for my growing Cane Corso puppy. She’s been on it for quite a few months now and seems to be doing really well on it. Best thing is that this picky eater will eat it willingly! Quality ingredients too.

my doberman puppy refuses to eat this food
By MichelleR on Feb 3, 2021
After researching large breed puppy foods, I decided this Wellness products had the best overall reviews. Ordered 3 bags, my puppy won't touch it. He was losing so much weight, I had to abandon this food, in the process of switching now.

American bulldog puppy loves it!
By k191 on Feb 18, 2021
Been feeding him this since 8 weeks (he’s now 6 months), he loves it so much & he’s growing phenomenally. I just add water to make it softer since the kibbles are so big.
