My cat refused to eat this flavor. I tried several times and mixed it in with his favorite food with no luck. He is allergic to poultry so we have tried all other options this one is not for him. I like the quality of this brand and their food is very high quality otherwise.
Our cats not only won't eat it, they actively reject it: one scratched the floor (burying behavior) and the other actually jumped back. Further research reveals that Basa is a long-lived catfish that absorbs toxins from industrial wastes (mercury and PCBs in particular).
I was gifted 6 6-ounce cans for my feral cat colony. After researching basa, I gave it a go. They really googled it up. I'd buy more for them but it's too expensive for the community cat colony.
My kitties all like this. Yum they say so I ordered more!
My two jerks love this; they’re incredibly spoilt, and will vociferously demand their Weruva for breakfast/dinner. This flavour has a LOT of gravy and mostly large chunks or mashed bits of meat, which can go either way depending on your cats’ food texture / consistency issues (anti pâté club, raise a paw. Don’t think I don’t see you, shred-haters...) MMAR and Mediterranean Feast are the current faves here; the Peking Ducken was for a short while, but then the fussiness over the shreds of meat put us back with the former.
I was a little leary of this because I didn't know what it was (it's a catfish), but it has low phosphorus content and 3 of my kitties have chronic kidney disease and need this type of food. Well I cannot tell you how fast they inhale this product. AMAZING
But my spoiled cats - all five of them - would not touch this. It is a quality food and I am certain someone will have a cat that loves it, but for mine, I have to vote 2 stars as they at least seemed to enjoy trying to cover it up lol!
I had to buy new food because they stopped making the old brand I used to purchase. My cat loves this food and it turns out it’s better for her than the other food I was giving her.
my fussy kitties find this food absolutely delicious! thank you Chewy, i got it on sale to try it out. meaou!
My cats (9 - 5 inside, 4 outside patio cats)refused to eat Meow Me A River, so I put it out on the front porch for strays. They ate it, but not with gusto, so I felt bad and offered a can of FF and they gobbled it up, but did not finish the Meow Me A River. I wouldn't recommend this food, moreover it is too expensive.
