Weruva Wx Phos Focused

This low-phosphorous food is all natural and free of ingredients like powdered cellulose, fillers and carbohydrates that can superficially lower phosphorous percentages. Weruva Wx contains up to 50% less phosphorus than AAFCO’s minimum levels.

Weruva’s Lowest Phosphorous Foods

The Weruva Wx formula has low levels of phosphorous without sacrificing protein content or quality. It offers highly bioavailable proteins for optimal digestion and good amino acid absorption to help maintain muscle mass.

Why Seek Lower Phosphorous Formulas?

As kidney health declines, the kidneys may no longer filter blood efficiently, and phosphorous may enter the blood stream. This can make cats feel unwell, become lethargic or experience appetite loss. The situation can become a vicious cycle as excess phosphorous in the blood further impairs the kidneys. A diet with lower phosphorous, although it will not cure kidney issues, can help minimize these other ailments.

Alas, No Takers

I trust Weruva, and between my two older indoor lady cats many of Weruva's flavors are liked/loved. From both cats this received a definite NO from the first offering, as did all tilapia foods after a couple of cans. I'm sure the nutrition etc. is fine (I do trust Weruva) but in my experience and from other reviews I have to conclude there is something about it that is off-putting to many cats - thus the 2 stars. No harm if anyone wants to try it anyway, but be warned - maybe do not start out with a case lol. Weruva will very kindly send you a sample pack if you call them.

Dislikes any of the items with tilapia in it

My kitty has been having a hard time adjusting to the prescription kidney food and has lost quite a bit of weight over the past year. So we tried WX Phos Focused with chicken due to the great reviews and he loved it. We then decided to get a variety pack with fish in it as he loves salmon and tuna, but when we tried the phos focused fish ones (which all have tilapia in it) he refused to eat it even the one with tuna, seems that other people have a similar experience. We highly recommend the Chicken only varieties though.

19 yr old loves it

Francine will only eat fancy feast beef. But with mild kidney disease I got worried. I’ve tried all low phosphorus foods, but she would not eat. But she loves this one! I’m transitioning her over. Thank you weruva!

Not a Hit with My Cat

Sounds great on paper, but my cat is refusing to eat it. I was very optimistic and unfortunately, my Boo does not agree with my choice. I will be donating the food to a rescue group; maybe one of their cats will eat it.

If only they loved it....

I love Weruva brand. They offer high quality food that my babies normally love. With two senior kitties with kidney disease, I was stoked they were offering a new Low Phosphorous line of food. We tried all the fish flavor ones. To my surprise and dismay, they barely licked at it and didn't want to eat any of it. So disappointed. I'm sure this is great food since that is on par for the brand, but my cats do not care for this food line...unfortunately.

Cats Wouldn't Touch It

My cats like MidEast Feast anc chicken pate, so I thought this would be a winner. After refusing to touch it over feedings on 2 days, I gave up. These cans will go to the Shelter.

Cats Love It

My cats already love Weruva so I am happy they came out with this line of low phosphorus cat food! This is great especially for my senior cat who is beginning stage of kidney disease. They tend to like wet food that has seafood in it so this was a hit!
