Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

This didn't make it 3 months with my pit mix puppy (10 months old). It didn't have a mark on it until last week, so it could have been much worse. I might have to buy another one anyway since he loves it but I won't give him back this one because I'm concerned about him eating any more of the layer that's coming off. Speaking of which, it seems kind of odd that it's coming off in distinct layers. Maybe it's a lemon and the next one will be better?
West Paw toys are so durable and safe for aggressive chewers. I love them all. I’m still trying to find the right sized treat for this one tho. Wish West Paw had suggestions or recommendations for this.
My pack of 5 loves this toy. They are heavy chewers. They play tug with it on occasion. They chew it all day. It's fun to play fetch with and it bounces crazy. I also put treats in it for fun. I wrote a review and posted it on my personal Facebook page, that's how much I like it. Very durable toy!
I got this toy and a Toppl as well for my 12-y-o border collie. The Toppl has worked out great. This Tux Tough toy is heavier and, as the name suggests, made of tougher stuff. The knobs are not empty cavities, but filled with more of the harder material from which this is made. Tucking a biscuit into the open area as illustrated makes this no more than an expensive treat delivery system that takes only seconds for my dog to solve. The toy itself is much too solid and inert (not very squishy) for my older dog to enjoy as a chew toy. Might be best for a younger dog or a stronger chewer-? I will try filling the cavity with yogurt/pumpkin puree with bits of random treats mixed in, then freeze this as a licking toy to see if I can generate more interest in it with my gentle dog.
West paw toys are the only toys that will stand up to my power chewer! Best toys ever!
As far as how long it will last I do not know yet, but I ordered the large and the opening should be a bit smaller. its too big to stuff for an activity, but need the larger for the size of dog. Daughter bought one too and it was a waste of money for us because we wanted a tough toy to stuff with treats.
I've got two of these large tux toys. I like them because they're freezer friendly, can be use with wet food, easy to clean in the dishwasher. However, my dog doesn't like to eat frozen food out of this since it's really frustrating for him. Normal wet food he'll attempt. In terms of treat dispensing toys, I feel like there are some more versatile ones on the market, but I don't regret my purchase. Not a must have, but nice to have!
Well that didn't hold up
This toy is great to fill with treats and let your dog have a challenge. I fill this with some treats, then I also put applesauce on top and freeze overnight. Keeps my dogs busy for a while.
I have a 62lb Pit Mix that is a very strong chewer. I was so excited to try Westpaw’s Tux toy for her. It looked so tough and durable but she chewed it apart in less than an hour. :(
